FFTF questions

Thanks Vic , that a new one right ? (Unlimited vs Limited FPS)

No Michael - it's always been that way and TMK has not changed. There are a LOT of misconceptions and statements about what FFTF is and does.

This is what I understand and have not seen any correction by either Aces or LM

FFTF defaults to 0.33 regardless of FPS setting

Valid FFTF range is 0.10 to 0.99 - not positive whether invalid ranges are ignored or revert to closest valid

FFTF only works on main thread

I tried this under a locked senario. No visible change although I do get an intermittent click every once in a while. Nothing like unlimited though.

I think I'll set this one aside for now..

Thanks Vic ,

"Vic says" FFTF defaults to 0.33 regardless of FPS setting

I think like you said this is really a "big" one in the community so i will leave it there because many simmers  it not in your pocket there regarding the FFTF value vs unlimited/locked FPS (0,01 vs 0.33 in this case)

Thanks

There always has been confusion about TBM and FFTF.  TBM *IS* affected by FPS setting and FFTF is not. However there are many posts stating that at unlimited FFTF defaults to 0.01. This is incorrect and also 0.01 is an invalid setting.

I have read posts from users stating that they use 0.05 or 0.01 and can tell the difference.

If LM has made any changes to the original FFTF concept, I have never seen any reference to it.

Hi Vic-

Does TBM work/not work under locked/unlimited?

Thanks,

Mark

The TBM formula only works when frames are locked - not effective unlimited.
