.AIR file - Missing Line 105-Aircraft Type=

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am making all of the my AI aircraft visible in the FSX aircraft selection menu. I have done mostly all by editing the .AIR file to change the Aircraft Type in line 105. But on the FAIB models, this section is missing. Can anyone help me add it, or offer me advice.

Thanks

On those aircraft why not just add a panel or an alias to a panel?

In AirEd right click on section 105 from an aircraft that has one, select "Copy to Clipboard".
In the airfile that needs the new record right click on any section, then select "Add from Clipboard".
Save file.

This section isn't missing. 105 etc. are from the stone age of FDE development. Usually FDEs are starting with section 341.

As charliearon said, I'd alter the aircraft.cfg file before tinkering with the air file.

I'll agree to disagree.. Yes if the section is missing the aircraft will show because it's value is zero. - True..
But, if the section is there and has a value of 2 it will not show regardless of a panel being there or not.  The section is a valid carry-over from the 'ol days.

Nice info, thanx. I never have this problem because I'm always doing the opposite. Deleting as many aircraft as possible in the opening screen.

Usually not more than 3.
