FreeMesh Elevation problems, plateaus, cliffs etc?

Recommended Posts

I run p3dv4 with FreeMesh + Vector + ftx global etc.. for awhile i had an issue with cliffs near airports, runways on plateaus.. they are only that way if freemesh is enabled.. i did do the vector autoconfig and made sure test airports were set to disabled.. thinking its either a scenery order issue or something else.

I did see that for fs global ultimate at least, there is a tool afm2 that will auto correct this issue.. but in the case of this freemesh that wont help, as I dont have fs global.

Has anyone tackled the issue of plateaus and found a quick solution.. Could someone remind me the proper ordering/placement of the fresh mesh entries.. mine go just above the bathymetry entry.. there is a vector AEC entry below this near the end as well.

Thanks in advance

I think Orbx has some sort of tool but not sure if it is only for their airports.  I would take a gander over at their site and look/ask around in their forums.

I tried the vector elevation correction tool, in various ways, nothing really cures it.  Might just be how it is with freemesh unless you have fsglobal and that afm2 tool really works.

I had a similar problem and nothing has helped than delete the scenery.cfg and let P3D rebuild from scratch. After that FTX Central reinstalled the ORBX stuff and all was fine again. I think it was somthing wrong with the scenery order even though I set the orbx insertation points correct.

I tried this.. tried it with just the clean scenery.cfg.. no opening of ftx.. added in the freemesh for USA.. reopened problematic areas.. still there with cliffs etc.

Unfortunately didnt help  (also tried opening ftx.. then letting it add the entries.. retested, same)
