P3D V4 and the Boeing 767

Note that there is a new 767 for P3D V4, it was released the other day. Looks pretty basic, as you'd expect from the price, but there you go if you wanna start tarting one up with ISG gauges etc:

Actually I thnk that having both sims might open mre oportunities. Tried mobile, but I lack some space on my HDD and BF is on next week so I have to save a bit. Also the 737CL looks very appealing. Sad QW dumped the development of their CL. I remember the CS 767 and even though their 757III is good, it's not the level of the 787 for example. It just doesn't feel snappy like a pmdg or even the 787. And if CS continue with their pricings trend then it might be a bit overpriced. IF at least it could have the feel of a new-old plane (like in the pmdg 744) with some wear but still looking top notch, would be awesome.

Speaking about ISG gauges, I heard that with those you could add FMS to basic aircraft. I may be a bit off topic but thomas ruth's work works on V4. I'm doing better textures and on the MD-11 topic I heard about those gauges. Does it mean it can fit to anything? (Since none of the thomas ruth come with an FMS I found the idea interesting because his a310 looks nice and just needs texture and systems overhaul for a freeware)

Nice for spotters and aviation enthusiasts though. It's always the older planes that are the most rewarding to see at airports, because (like everything) you only really appreciate them when they are (almost) gone :wink:

Yup, you can throw those ISG gauges onto anything as 2D panels, however, if you want them in a VC, there has to be a 'slot' for them to go into in the VC, so if you have an aeroplane with perhaps a dummy FMC gauge in its VC, or a really basic one in there which you want to swap out, then that is the ideal situation for the ISG stuff because then you can drop a more sophisticated FMC into the slot occupied by the lesser one.

Yes -- I added the ISG Smith's style FMS (MD-11 style) to the CLS DC-10 HD aircraft.  Now I basically have a Fedex MD-10.   The ISG gauges can be updated with Navigraph too.  The only limitation as was said, might be with your aircraft -- if its VC doesn't have a hole or two, you will have to use the gauges as 2D popups.

Now I have a question for you.  Does the Thomas Ruth A300 work in P3Dv4?

Of course. I started to make higher rez textures because basic ones just are a joke (256*256) and it looks awful (can't even read panels) Actually I came across it when looking for the priject airbus A380 with the new VC. It has a VC but the fms have a black picture, so replacing it shouldn't be a problem. Furthermore the one of the MD-11 is very very similar in terms of design. I'm talking about the A310, because it also has CRTs that don't look like FSX's default 737 gauge. It even comes with freighter variants. DL works. navigation is a true pain. It's that same basic flightplan that you have to load. ILS works ok.

It would be nice if Level-D and PMDG where to enter into a joint venture and release the B757 and B767 for P3D.

If you are wondering about the CS 757, it's not bad, but, not too sure if it's worth it.

The CS 757 has bad VNAV, and I go about 295 knots when I'm descending. Also, control inputs can still be inputed even with autopilot.

As of systems, it's not bad. However, there isn't a lot of customization like PMDG, besides having winglets or not. Also, in my opinion the 757's cockpit isn't that great. The overall shape of it doesn't really feel like a 757. If you want a 757, get X-Plane and the FlightFactor 757. I can say, it's cockpit shape is much better, and the systems is much better than CS's 757. 

Of course, you can live without it, or have an installation of P3D v3 and get the Level-D.

I don't really agree with you. When i first tested it it felt floaty, unrealistic and low on fps. However, I bought it during the winter sale. Sure. It's not PMDG level. Though it's not as bad as you might think. They fixed the geometry of the VC. the yoke doesn't look too low anymore. And the fms is more than decent, with even two flps for etops routing (neat). There are some issues, like no stepping unlike let's say the 787. Also he winds can't be requested. And the biggest issue is by far the msrp. Too high. I got it for 25 bucks, which is more than acceptable. And the fact there is no RR variant is dissapointing, although for 55 usd the whole thing it's ok. Another defect is vnav, quite buggy. I prefer doing it myself. No problem here. I think that most of the bugs were fixed on sp1 (v1.2) . If you didn't try latest build, you can't really see how good/ bad it is. I stay neutral, just giving you my houghs about it. IF ONLY they fix all the remaining bugs they may be like QW. I do enjoy it for sure. It can indeed fly. And it overally nice.

Can you share your panel.cfg settings for CLS Dc10 ISG integration?

Did you also replace default gauge with MD11 style ISG ND.

All as popups -- SHIFT-1,2 etc.

I haven't figured out how to put them in the VC -- I think there would need to be more of a hole where the stock FMS is.  Speaking of the stock FMS, it's still there and I do use it to calculate V speeds, and that is a useful function it seems to have.  Also, I added Roland's 64-bit radar gauge as panel0.  There are no visual buttons to control the radar gauge, BUT you can use your mouse on the gauge to control via invisible buttons.  It works.

Anyway, below is the cfg.  As you can see I eliminated a lot of subpanels that I didn't want/need.  This is what I use for Fedex MD-10 flights.

Thanks! Will try some of your sertings.

i managed to add ISG FMS to VC. Fits perfectly. I  am calculating v speeds using real world charts. I use Milviz/ Rex radar as pup up window.

Did you build some DC10 like ISG cfg file to customize FMS? I can see you have this DC1010F suffix as 5th parmeter in gauges.
