Number of threads displayed per page

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I searched but it seems that it is not possible to increase the number of threads displayed per page?

I imagine that this is to avoid to create to much workload on the server ?

It looks like a case of what you see is what you get as far as number of posts per page, or if looking at a forum page, the number of threads per page.  I saw no way to adjust that in settings.

Thanks Charlie.

I asked because on some forums (not here apparently) you can set the number of threads per page .

Right now I have the setting at 15 posts per page and 15 topics per page.   How many do you want?

EDIT:  The 15 topics per page is within each major categories such as, AVSIM Fix Based Operations, Microsoft Flight Simulation, Prepar3D, Commercial Forums, etc.

I believe based on my experience with some other enthusiast sites (all non-aviation in my case) there are forums where the number can be user-specific, or defined by the user as a personal user parameter. I believe that may be his question.

Hi Jim and Franck,

Thank you for coming in this thread.

If the admin can activate an option to allow each user to customize the number of threads per page and the number of posts per thread, that would be best IMHO.

Otherwise, personally I would like 25 threads per page.

Hi Jim,

Have you discussed with the team and/or took a decision?

It was set to 25 posts per topic.  No other changes are planned.

Thanks Jim.

I was hoping for 25 threads per page.

But sure I understand there are constraints.

I will try it and see what happens.  If it brings down performance just even a millisecond, it will be returned to 15.

Thank you for trying and yes I thought about performance so I would understand perfectly if it is returned to 15.

Hi Jim,

Of course it would need to stand the test time but apparently so far so good?

For me the main advantage of having 25 threads per page is to avoid to go to the 2nd page to check new threads or posts.
