FSDG Cape Town Released

Recommended Posts

Already have Pilots FS Global Ultimate NG mesh installed. Just waiting for LC from ORBX! Downloaded Cape Town FSDG. Don't have time to install now. Let me know what you think.

The Aeroworx Vector files and non-airport scenery adds a lot of great detail to Cape Town including the Zeekoevlei water treatment plant and Cape Town harbour.    I would also layer the Aeroworx landclass files above any other global landclass (including Orbx) when it is released.

For functionality, I did purchase NMG King Shaka International in Durban (FALE) , because it adds that airport and navaids to P3D V4, as the default LM scenery does not contain that airport in its database.

I don't think I've heard of this company. fsdg? Any reviews?

Sceneries are good, just make sure you back up your download and note the serial, you will have no prolonged access to it after the initial purchase download and finding your serial number is a bit tedious if you don't back that up. If you do all that, it's no big deal although I can't say I'm a fan of their selling method compared to some other places in this regard.

Yep, have just installed FACT and am impressed with the level of detail compared to other sceneries on offer. Yes, have backed up the download, etc. I'm assuming the season (month)selection in the configurator applies to the northern hemisphere and not the region related to the airport? It's not clear and could lead to confusion.

Let's get more developers interested in areas outside of Europe, USA. An "untapped" market...!

Also purchased for the same reason. Only problem, the airport is devoid of any AI traffic since developers still use flight plans with FADN.

Well actually I've updated all my flight plans via AIG, quite a lot of AI goes there now as airlines are currently using the new airport.

Peter,

My wife and I visited South Africa several years ago, and we flew to Johannesburg.  Took multiple short flights into the bush where we did 2 game drives a day (photographic) to see the most beautiful animals we've ever seen in our lives.  Unlike a zoo, these animals were clean and inspiring.  Seeing an elephant in the wild for the 1st time actually brought tears to my eyes.  We never got to Cape Town, and someday I hope to get there.

What a beautiful country.  I would take the 20+ hour flight back in a heartbeat!

Yes, beautiful scenery here. In my company I work with several "American Africans" who decided to leave the States and settle in Cape Town.
