I wanted to tag some comments on my post.  First, whatever happened to HLJames, who posted so many wonderful photoreal pictures here?  And in general I notice less activity in this forum, my favorite forum here at Avsim because it shares new payware and freeware and sim enhancements, like Xplane11's Aerolight 103 which I first saw here.  I hope the forum picks up activity and would also love to see other sims shown here too.

Not sure why anyone tags a post anymore.  The Google/Bing engines are so powerful.  For instance, some are tagging a topic with P3DV4, Carenado, Phenom 300, etc., and then has the same key words in the topic title and/or body of the topic.

Since we must keep the topic prefixes related to a simulator (as many members got very upset as they wanted a forum for P3D Screenshots, XP11 Screenshots, FS9 Screenshots, etc., because they hated to be surprised with suddenly looking at an XP11 image which "wasted their time".  With the luxury of Prefixes all one needs to do is click on P3D and he/she will see every screenshot of P3D.  They now do not have to get all upset if they accidentally open an XP11 screenshot somewhere as they hate to look at them.  Now, AVSIM has solved this crisis by coming up with the Prefix (actually it was just Top who solved it).

Someday soon (I've been working on it for a couple of years now) we are going to install a new Prefix program where I can provide you a list of the various simulators.  When you click on the title, a list of each simulator will be shown and you must select one of them before your topic/images can be published.  I am currently working hard with the CEO and senior staff to make this happen!  Once it does, then members should place some information in their topic about the images.  Maybe some information about the aircraft they used, the scenery in the image(s), and maybe even some info about the weather program if applicable (mostly you have been very good at this).  Members from around the world want to see screenshots and videos of what some of the products that come with simulators as add-ons look like.  It might get them excited to purchase the product or try to replicate the image.

I was wondering the same thing the other day.  Hope all is well with him.  Perhaps someone should send a PM?  His images were some of the best and his contributions will be sorely missed.

Best regards,

Jim

I took a month long break from the Internet in September since I skipped paying my Centurylink Bill, came back online at the end of last month, so I suppose there are reasons we sometimes have an absence from our fav sites or the Internet.  And sometimes if I am "all screenshotted out" or have no insights to share I will clam up and just sim.  Sometimes I just get tired of reading what I post, I imagine we all get that way sometimes, or sometimes I will break a rule here and punish myself, especially if a mod reminds me (although rarely they do, I usually catch myself first) that I have done so.  Heck, when I was a mod here way back when I'd cross the line sometimes, hated myself for it, main reason why I quit being a mod, I feel it is the toughest job, especially on a volunteer basis, for any type of forum or venue.  I used to be an IT manager and lead, and former business manager, but I hated being in a position of judgement and later in my career would turn down such offerings, preferring just to have my nose to the grindstone and enjoying the coaching I received rather than being a coach.  I do love coaching sports for friends, especially volleyball and football which I used to play, goes back to my own dad being a Pop Warner football coach back in the 60's.  And when I have friends to my apartment, I love coaching them on sims and teaching them the basics of flying, just to see the look on their face when I tell them they are ready for real life flight lessons.
