X-Plane 11.30 Beta is out!

It doesn't necessarily give you more fps, it just allows you turn up more settings while maintaining the same fps. Or at least it did. With the latest release, the two videos I recently did would not be possible, due to a significant framerate loss with 11.30

Ok.

I have some performance loss , at the .org simmers wre saying that LR mentioned there would be performance gains with this update. I think only a few are noticing some gains and not all.

When is it going to be available on Steam?

Right-click on the XP11 icon in Steam Library and go to properties. There you will find Betas. Just click on public betas in the drop down menu.

If you want to go back to 11.26, just click on NONE and the beta is gone.

I understood the performance gain is on newer machines. Older architecture will not benefit so much.

New machines will always get some performance gain 😛

Well, it isn't really the age of the machine, it depends primarily at the age of the GPU. This is the main element for the new shader code. But there are also elements that lower the performance gain and the older the motherboard and the CPU the more likely it is, that you won't see any performance gains, you can only work with more capabilities of the GPU, if you have enough memory.

I too notice a performance loss, only on aircraft with smoke effects, not prop aircraft.  I did have concerns the new particle system might cause a performance loss.  Also it does not look right--I get contrails but off of the wing tips in add on aircraft like the Aerobask Eclipse.  Still get the dirty smoke behind the engines.  Not very realistic at all and not expected.  Pity there is no option to disable the particle system and effects.

Yep looks like it's them shaders.

There is a discussion about the contrails which is showing up on the Kingair ".org.

A few factors like air pressure / humidity / wing weight could be the thing.

Thing i will try the 109 today and see how it looks

I reverted back to 11.26 and all is normal again with the jets.  For those who did not make a backup, 11.26 can be reinstalled by running the installer and unchecking the beta option, which is what I just did.  Some files have to be overwritten though, so be patient if that is your chosen course of action.  Crosswind handling was never a bit issue with me, so that was not the reason I tried the beta, the particle system was.  If there are recognized performance issues by Austin and his team I am sure they will be ironed out over time, or an option will be added to disable the particle system, hopefully, since there are already sliders to tone down certain Xplane options.  I did not need the new joystick features since my Logitech Extreme 3D pro works so well with 11.26.

I did see some improvement in FPS when flying FlightFactor A320 plane but I am facing a hypoxia situation each and every flight the moment I'm flying through about 15000ft. Checked the status bleed and pressure pages, and all seems to be okay. For now, I've disabled the 'simulate blackout, redout, & hypoxia effects' on the flight sim's settings. Hopefully, this'll be fixed at some point :)
