HLJames is missing

Recommended Posts

Hello,

as John (Cactus521) has already stated, HLJames has not posted his wonderful photoreal pictures since a couple of months.

I want to second John. I took the chance to search for his topics and was again overwhelmed from the beautyness and diversity of the landscapes. I adore his eye for the right motifs, perspectives and attractiv regions. And I admire his amount of time to plan the routes, to fullfill the enjoyable flight, to catch the screenshots and especially to do all this work to share them here on AvSim.
He must have a very good knowledge from our planet to find these interesting routes again and again.

So I hope he is well and only takes a pause like every artist needs this to get some new ideas.

When I searched for his topics I took bookmarks and I want to share ten of them here, if you are interested.
I hope he will not disagree, then I could add the others ten by ten.

As Well as his Stunning Captures and interesting travel stories,He always left a Kind Word on my Screenshots even if they weren't that great or he really wasn't interested in the subject.😊

I MISS HIM.......I'm hoping he's OK and just is having PC or internet issues.

Sometimes I have been absent from here for a month or longer for various reasons, not to uncommon with us frequent posters.  Sometimes I just run out of new ideas for screenshots or threads in other forums.  Or I get back to simming when I feel I've spent too much time online.  Or from time to time I will skip a payment to my ISP provider only to pay the following month.

This reminds us that members of this forum and many others are people and may I even say friends.

Seeing their words here regularly give us a mind impression of what they are like and we look forward to seeing some while just giving a cursory look at what others say. Many posters have become part of our lives just like people in our neighbourhood and have in general made our worlds better.

I hope he is OK and look forward to his next post.  It is good people have noticed him missing, too often people just vanish.

Hope to see him return soon.  I always enjoy his flights and the images of them he shares with us.

I did ask myself the same question. As others said, he did not only post pictures from flights to places so far and wonderful - or so near and well known; he also always made a friendly remark to my own picture threads. I miss his pictures, too, and wish he will return soon.

He inspired me to fly photoreal scenery, and to get a better system to do it with.  He inspired me to create photoreal scenery, to make my flights more realistic, even though some diss it without autogen.  And he complimented my Xplane11 posts when I started posting Ortho4XP photoreal projects I had did with them.  He shared parts of the world not often flown, the real joy of VFR flight, from the flight levels and from way down low.  There is no way my screenshots could exceed his in beauty, he was just one of a kind.

Hello,
so here are another ten bookmarks to the wonderful topics from HLJames:

The next ten will probably follow this weekend (I gathered more than fifty pretty nice screenshot-topics from HLJames - but as they are like caviar, we should degust them in small portions :-) )

Maybe there is a simple reason that James is not posting his wonderful screenshots anymore. He surely had spent a fortune of money and time in his photoreal sceneries. I can imagine that he now wants to stay at this state of the art he has properly reached. On the other hand the available photosceneries have improved: MegasceneryEarth for example has reached Version 3. So I can well understand that HLJames doesn't want to go with this progress and spend another fortune of money and time to step to the next Level Of Detail.  What he has reached is good enough for him (and us as well ! ), but he might think it isn't.

So HLJames if you read these lines: no reason to be shy. Your sceneries from all over the world are pretty well. Really fabulous!

And I would be glad to spend you one or two sceneries from France VFR or Austria HD Professional or ME V3, if you think this helps to get new start. Just write me a PM and we can do this with discretion.
Maybe there are others who will spend as well, maybe also a hard disk . . .  Might be an idea?

I hope I'm not misunderstood.

Best wishes to all
Peter

Sure miss HLJames.  I would not have purchased MSE scenery were it not for him.  He posted the most wonderful screenshots, showing us what flying was all about, like Jonathan Livingston Seagull.  Sadly my heart says something terrible must have happened to him, I just feel a loss of a good friend to all of us.
