The most annoying bug in P3D... Now even worse ?

Recommended Posts

So we all know the old (P3D V3 till today) when all shadows disappear when panning around. During summer time it was mostly noticeable during early morning/late afternoon- evening- sunset. Now that winter months are here, the sun is always in lower angle so this bug simply happens all day. LM, you are developing planes and advanced weapons systems, is this bug really that hard to fix ? or its simply dosnt bother you as company ?

Please dont get me wrong as i love the sim but this annoying thing is there for years.

I would actually ask LM in their own forum.  They do not regularly monitor posts here because, well, they have their own forum!

Best wishes my friend.

Hi Dave,  i know, they been asked so many times on their forum and the answer is all the time same "it will be looked at at the future..." or something like this...  Just wanted to come here share my frustration... 🙂

It’s prob not a big deal to LM. I truly believe eye candy is way lower priority than developing systems.

There are probably hundreds of "bugs" with a program based off of a program that was never fully developed by Microsoft.  Personally I have never seen or been bothered by this "bug" but do know the team works hard to fix them if they can.  The P3D Team at Lockheed has done some great things based on Microsoft's ESP and I think we will see many more spectacular achievements.  Agree with Dave that you should let the P3D developer know about any "bugs".  Glad to see you have brought it to their attention.

I know Jim, Its just almost perfect but today the breaking point that made me write this post, i was preparing the flight at the cockpit in kinda nice windy day with sct clouds, and then when i look fwd the airport is dark by cloud shadow and then i look 30 degrees to the right all the shadow gone its sunny bright. Annoying.

I would hazard a guess that LM are using v1, 2, 3 and 4 as stepping stones to v5, where it's rumoured there will be some major upgrades to parts of the engine. So at this stage it's probably a waiting game where it pays to be a PMDG customer, as apparently we have the patience of a saint 😜
