Trigger soundfile on touchdown

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to have some passengers applauding and clapping hands on touchdown.
Is there any way to implement this into Prepar3d?

Thanks!

Best regards

Andreas

No..at the moment I don't have such a soundfile.
Can you describe the process of triggering such a file here in the forum?

I found a suitable file in the meantime :)

You will need to open the Aircraft.cfg of the file you want to enable this for, find the [EFFECTS] sections:

[EFFECTS]
wake=fx_wake
water=fx_spray
dirt=fx_tchdrt
concrete=fx_sparks
touchdown=fx_tchdwn, 1

Some of your flyable aircraft will have an effect already, others don't.. for the ones that have one you need to find the effect file to enable sounds pointing at your .WAV sound. If it doesn't have an effect you will need to create one, full information about how to create / modify effects can be found here: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/LearningCenter.php  but basically you need to add a [sound] section for the effect like this

[sound]
minatteuationdistance=0
filename=xxxxxx.WAV

Have fun..,

Please note you cannot distribute anything you do without the permission of the original airplanes developers.

S.

P3d has the following 2 touchdown effects files in the effect Folder:

fx_tchdwn.fx  and fx_tchdwn_s.fx

Where would you recommend to add the lines:

[sound]
minatteuationdistance=0
filename=xxxxxx.WAV

Do I need to add the line touchdown=fx_tchdwn_s, 1 here as well to make the _s file working?-->

[EFFECTS]
wake=fx_wake
water=fx_spray
dirt=fx_tchdrt
concrete=fx_sparks
touchdown=fx_tchdwn, 1
touchdown=fx_tchdwn_s, 1

Pretty much,

But note these are FSFX Packages effects created by OLDPro and It is protected content, please edit your post and remove the effect source code from public view.

They are also dynamic effects that can change at run time and therefore on this particular case your solution might not work.

S.

This isn’t totally related but may give someone a laugh.

After a particulary heavy landing in a 737  I heard the Purser remark “was that a landing or were we shot down”

Cracked all of us up who were in earshot.

You cannot make it work with this method while using FSFX precipitation effects.

The other methods requires SimConnet code, which is more complicated, why you don't suggest to Kevin to add sounds? He might listen to your request. He is very good with customers.

Do you have a registered version FSUIPC?

I would really love to do this but I cannot see an edit button 😞

If possible can an Admin do this for me?

Thx!
