P3D V4, Dxgi and invalid hardware errors

Recommended Posts

So about last week i started getting dxgi errors with prepar3d and i tried rolling back drivers and that didn't work, so i tried uninstalling my gpu in device manager and also that didn't work so after that i started getting Invalid hardware or Driver Detected errors too, so i reinstalled my sim and that didn't do anything either, tried debug mode in nvidia control panel but after bit it starts again so i don't know what to do at this point, I'm using a gamig laptop with a GTX1050TI & I5-7300HQ with 8 gb of ram, I'm afraid of using ddu because i heard it messed up some peoples laptops, and I'm using the october update from windows, i don't know if thats the problem but I'm just letting you guys know that.

Did you make any hardware changes?

I've tried disabling my driver back when I had a GTX 960M and was running FSX:SE.

It did raise a "Invalid hardware detected" message. (Which I posted in AVSIM.)

Apparently, I just had to reinstall drivers from Dell's website. (I used to use a Dell laptop.)
You should probably check if your laptop manufacturer has any software where it can detect any out dated drivers.

Do you have any ideas for why you might've gotten the DXGI errors?

Keep in mind that the drivers on Nvidia's website are typically not for laptop GPU's.  You will most likely get installation or device errors if you use them.  You have to get specific drivers from the laptop manufacturer.

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/138699/en-us

This driver is English and is for WINDOWS 10 (x64).

This is the "Notebook" version of the driver. So it won't have any errors. (I hope)

If you have anything under Windows 10, then specify.

If you want to find drivers yourself, go to:

https://www.geforce.com/drivers

Make SURE you select GeForce 10 series (Notebook) in the manual driver search. Also, make sure you download the same driver for your OS.

You can also use DDU, which i can guarantee that it won't mess it up.

The only reason for people's laptops are messed up, is probably that they didn't know how to use it.

Well here it is:

So update, install 416.34 earlier and got the error again, So i reinstall the drivers from lenovo webside where you can find it  here https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-y520-15ikbn/downloads and i fell asleep and woke back up and i didn't get the error so i reading a ea post about this they where talking about doing a "clean boot" so i'm currently testing that out, installed 416.34 again and it's working out so far i'll give you another update later. links to the stuff i am talking about. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2665946/display-driver-stopped-responding-and-has-recovered-error-in-windows-7  https://answers.ea.com/t5/Crysis-Games/DXGI-ERROR-DEVICE-REMOVED/td-p/1118490

One link you gave was for Windows 7. Is your OS Win7 or Win10? The driver I gave you was for WIndows 10 x64. Make sure you download a driver that's corresponding to your OS.
Or else you'll be in driver hell trying to fix registries and end up reinstalling Windows. 😛

Did you reinstall Windows, then installed the game? Or did you install anything else?
