Carenado PA31 for XP11 and GNS530 v2

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I'm at lost and looking for some help making the GNS530 v2 work on Carenado Piper Navajo PA31 for XP11.

After installing the recently purchased Reality XP GNS530 the only plane that really works with the 530 v2  is the default XP11 Baron 58. Of course this was after following steps on the User's Manual.

After making sure the Baron worked properly I moved on to configure the PA31 and setting up the .ini file as to where I believe to have it right. Then realized it was not working as it should.

- -Plane starts with GNS popup window and can't close it using the 3D panel mouse click. In fact it won't close unless I go to Plugin setting and disabled from there.

- -When clicking on the 3D cockpit GNS, the default XP11 GNS  pops up instead of RXP's.

- -RXP GNS responds to all button clicks and works on both (3D cockpit and Popup RXP GNS window) except the cockpit GNS screen does not change graphics (Map, frequencies, etc)

- -Looking at GNS on cockpit upper right  corner, it shows just the default GNS530 logo and not the GNS530 XP as it should.

- -Renamed the Reality XP .ini and copied and paste the one from Baron 58 (Which works fine) and made the changes to the frame.rect line (1024,908,521,391) to fit the PA32 bezel.

I hope I made sense on all the steps I have taken at no avail to my struggle making this work and hope anybody can guide me on what could I do next or share some input at what to do. See my .ini file below.

Kind Regards to all...

Hi,

First, you have too much data in the '3D' panel drawto section: you have manually copied settings pertaining only to the 'device' settings section.

I've edited the section below with your settings (it shouldn't have anymore than the following):

[GNS_530_1.Garmin_530_screen]
; display window if true.
visible = true
; show screen only gauge if true.
nobezel = true
; display type: WINDOW,PANEL2D,PANEL3D,PANELS
frame.type = PANELS
; display position and dimension (left,top,width,height)
frame.rect = 1024,908,521,391
; screen only border size (pixels).
border.size = 0
; screen only border color (#RGB or #RGBA).
border.rgba = #000000
; enable mouse clickspots if true, disable if false (use SHIFT to override)
usemouse = true
; left mouse button on the screen toggles popup window if true.
popleft = false
; right mouse button on the screen toggles popup window if true (requires XP11.1).
popright = true

Assuming your coordinates are right, the rest seems fine.

NB: the 'popup' window command is activated with the right mouse button. Use popleft = true should you want the left mouse button instead, like documented in the file comments.

Hello Jean-Luc.

I truly appreciate the quick response to this matter and glad you clarified things for me. It sure is nice to have such great support .

I copied the edited portion you fixed for me and seems to work just fine. I will take this puppy for a spin and give it a test.
Thank you very much.

Best Regards
