Can't say which is better but I am about to purchase UK2000 simply because of their track record and service over the years.

I would go for the UK2000 version.

If you are used to the UK2000 sceneries for FSX/P3D, then you will be disappointed with the Pilot Plus version,

My two cents....

The UK2000 ones were great on FSX at the time, but they are direct conversions of the old scenery, with no new higher resolution textures added or layout changed, etc. The recent Cardiff conversion in particular was quite poor in terms of what we're used to today on X-Plane, but was great when it came out years ago for FSX. If you're used to MisterX style airports, these are far behind visually. This should give you an idea:

The PilotPlus one was built using X-Plane specific features, is more up-to-date and is still being updated, but I don't have any experience using it. It of course simply depends on what is more visually appealing to you 🙂

Hi,

I've also posted elsewhere hoping for some assistance with the odd behavior my newly installed PP Gatwick 2.2 payware.

I have a pic but can't see a way to add it to this post. Basically, the APT doesn't load the PP EGKK. What I see is a different pier and large generic buildings everywhere including a long massive windowed block jammed right under the AirBridge!

I'm using ORBX TE South with PP's EGKK Airport placed right at the top of the .ini file, above all other airports. Something else seems to be demanding priority despite my trying to observe the recognised .ini  layering rules.

I've tried  everything I know including removing anything and everything associated with EGKK and even the UK from my Customer Scenery folder. That which I can find that is. Tried reinstalling. Even created a new Customer Scenery folder with just ORBX  TE South (and its associated files), and PP Gatwick in it. It still loaded the phantom EGKK!

The only place left that I can think of would be the XP 11 Resources folder. But surely not?

All and any suggestions welcome :-)

Cheers

Gareth

This is because the PP airport doesn't have facade exclusions set, so you're seeing generic buildings from TrueEarth showing up.

PP have said they are working on a fix to this, but also in the SP1 update for TrueEarth, all these generic buildings will be removed.

PP EGKK is a good and faithful rendition but I find it too frame heavy for my tastes. On my rig a healthy 25 fps with the default drops to 8 fps with PP’s.
