I presume you're referring to the US? Shipping overseas to/from international destinations adds considerably.

eBuyer, Scan and Amazon got a decent UK reputation, I fell out with Overclocks UK. You haven't stated a country so I'm guessing you're in the United States 🙄, I believe NewEgg is popular there. If you're on a budget, eBay for second hand bits.

Many online stores these days are just entry points, you could be buying from any number of re-sellers (this is true for Amazon or NewEgg and others).  If you have a good exchange rate, don't rule out International web sites ... I recently got my 9900K from the UK rather than local US (because they sell out faster than I can hit the buy button) and DHL got it to my door (UK to US CA) in 3 days and exchange rate was good so it actually only cost me about $21 more than if I had go it local thru NewEgg or Amazon.

I personally would avoid eBay ... eBay has been about 50/50 for both selling and buying for my experience.

If you live close to a Microcenter that is my first choice providing they carry the components you want. They will match any internet price, you can return items easily if you need to, and many of the sales staff are computer enthusiasts and fairly knowledgeable.

Your post made me think of another option... Fry's too will match any Internet price, returns are easy, and many of the folks in their stores are knowledgeable.  They have good on line ordering as well.

I've never visited a Microcenter... don't know if my heart could handle it, or if my wife would be keen on me taking a credit card in there. 😮

Greg, you just beat me to it, because although I do not reside in the USA, I have when visiting my sister in Vegas been to Fry's As you state, excellent store

And if you live in the vicinity of a MicroCenter retail store here in the US, they are great as well.  Even offering build and installation services for very reasonable charges.

Newegg and Amazon are very good choices. I have very good experiences with the two of them. Unfortunately I don't think there's any MicroCenter store in FL.
