I installed to my FSX/PMDG 738. Dome light worked, dim but fine. MCP light sources were visible but shone no light on MCP at all. So sadly were unusable in the plane. Much more of an issue was that very annoying flashing arrow symbol on my screen. Can you turn this off as surely the Lights Manager can be run on a different monitor so having an immersion killer on my screen can be avoided? Uninstalled spotlights for now as that flashing arrow is making me very annoyed!

My reply in the FSL forums :

I replied in this thread as it was the lights themselves not working not the airplane variant.

I used the correct FSX link in the AVSIM thread.

I used the 800 WL correct ini.

I didnt use a 600/700/900 I used the exact aircraft as specified.

If there is no guarantee they will work with FSX as they have not been tested it needs to state clearly in the FSX thread that this is the case please! Have posted this reply there too.

PS: If there is an icon on the main screen I will never use it. My main screen is uncluttered by anything other than the VC, nothing to kill the immersion there.

Its for P3D ONLY as per the tag in the post were the link and files can be found. If it was for FSX it would have a tag saying so and a link to the the FSX version of Spotlights.

Even the guild points to the P3D version of Spotlights not the totally different FSX version.

So to be clear there is no mention anywhere referring to it working in FSX. Sorry.

There are a couple of definitive statements in page 1 of this thread dated November 11 2018 saying the spots are interchangeable between fsx and p3d. Can quote them if you like when I'm back on pc but maybe you should quote them here yourself and clear this up by correcting them in case someone else reads them and thinks there is 100% compatibility. They even provide a link for the FSX download!

Spotlight inis for FSX and P3D are fully interchangeable, absolutely no issues. You need the latest spotlight from FSL though. 4.1 and later is fine.

Well, Marc was mistaken. Perhaps take it up with him in a PM if he got it working within FSX or he just thought it would.

Before that post, I had said.

But no idea if ini made within P3D will work, properly not.

It's clear on the main FSL post/topic link that it's for P3D with only a tag for P3D.

Apart from yourself and one other person asking if it's for P3D only?, the other 1800 views over there and 1400 views here seem to not have or had a problem  understanding it is for P3D

But as you ask for it to be clear. Am happy to add this here for you Russell.

Warning this is for P3D V4 only. It does not work with FSX.

Am not adding anything over at the Spotlight forum as this and the -8 are clearly Tagged with P3D.
