Flysimware Releases Falcon 50 Beta Purchase

According to a r/w Falcon 50 flight manual, N1 for Mach 0.80 cruise will typically be between 94 and 97 percent, depending on weight, altitude and outside air temperature. In the sim, probably the best bet would be to simply try maintaining a fixed speed in level flight by adjusting power, and see what N1 you end up with. 

What I have found so far is that in level flight at FL360 at a gross weight of 31,000 pounds in ISA conditions, the aircraft maintains Mach 0.80 at an N1 of about 81 percent.

The only official Dassault reference materials I have at hand for Falcon 50 performance is for the original TFE 731-3-1C engines. The Flysimware aircraft emulates the newer and more powerful TFE 731-40 engines found on the Falcon 50EX

Interesting info concerning the engines. Just downloaded the Flysimware manual but it doesn't contain any performance info at all.

With the -40 engines I couldn't use performance data from my original Mystere 50 manuals.

Hence my question, is Flysimware going to release a complete set of T/O, CLB, CRZ and LND performance tables for their version?

According to the Honeywell website, the -40 engines at ISA sea level takeoff power are rated at 4,250 pounds of thrust, whereas the original -3 engines are rated at 3,700 pounds. 

Takeoff V-speeds based on weight and flap/slat config should be about the same, as should landing VREF, but N1 power settings will probably be quite different.

The -40 engine came “stock” on the newer Falcon 50EX, but are available as a retrofit for older DA50s with -3s. I believe quite a few owners have done the upgrade, as it definitely improves dispatch reliability and resale value.

I really hope that they will add the above mentioned tables, otherwise no realistic flight planning will be possible.

Landing performance should be basically identical.

I assume that Flysimware does have the original performance and flight planning manuals since you can't design a realistic FDE without these.

Anyone looking at making a reflection profile for this lovely bird? I wanna fly it at night but i don't want it to look like a tin can lol

Agreed. A more complete manual is essential. Did their Learjet come with a more adequate manual?

 

im having trouble calculating the correct fuel for this as well. Is there a simple rule of thumb to follow?

I haven’t done enough long flights in the sim to check yet, but according to published performance specs, a Falcon 50 with TFE 731-40 engines will typically burn about 2800 pounds in the first hour, 2200 in the second hour, and 1800 for each subsequent hour.

With a full passenger load, the aircraft has a range of about 3,100 NM with IFR reserves.

The aircraft is usually operated between FL360 and FL410 at Mach 0.80 It is certified all the way up to FL490 but is normally not flown higher than FL430 unless very lightly loaded.

Hi...

The Lear came with the equivalent manuals - however - we did get the full POH/AFM shared by community members - so we had plenty of documentation... There’s a whole thread dedicated to documentation on the Lear... Hopefully we’ll get similiar at some point...

No it isn't. It's M0.86.  (btw. MMO has nothing to do with the cruising speed).

That's interesting because the 50EX AFM says that the TFE731-40 has 3700lbs take-off T/O and 3641lbs max cont thrust.

I know.  I just was curious about the max op speed.

I rarely use recommended speeds in flightsim

They may be derated for use the DA50. The 4250 figure came from the Honeywell generic spec sheet on their TFE 731 product page. The AFM would be the reference to use.
