Thanks scottb613 yes thats it.

Hi...

LOL - no worries - I'm a big boy and can take my lumps...

From Charlies response - it sounded like AvSim just has some automated process that flagged it for some reason - so he deleted it - I wouldn't take it personally... You didn't quote him - so he's probably not going to see your response - if really curious - I'd recommend a polite PM to him... His initial post had me concerned because I do the very same - - - all the time... Just because we can see the picture in the post - it's still a link...

In the takeoff video above it looks like the landing lights are pulsing on and off -- do they do that for some reason or, as I would assume, is that just some unintended video side effect?

BTW, there are some super pictures of the FSW Falcon 50 on the FSW store site at

https://www.flysimware.com/FLYSTORE_2015/en/home/40-flysimware-s-dassault-falcon-50.html

Click on the larger picture -- there are a lot more.

Hi Al,

Pulsed landing lights are so cool and add a great deal of visual interest - many people have them today - even down to your smallest GA aircraft... The light alternates from side to side (usually a different switch position) - which makes the landing light appear to bounce from side to side to the outside viewer... The simulated motion GREATLY enhances visibility as our eyes are drawn to motion.. I heard it mentioned somewhere that it helps scare birds off a bit more as well - of that I'm skeptical... This is possible to do in P3D as Carenado has a bird or two with them - this would be a great enhancement if Mark is so inclined...

Hi Folks,

Hmm - this paint seems to have some community interest - might bump it to number one on my list...

Regards,
Scott

Nice video of her taking off from Portland, which I think is her home base!

Hi Martin,

Why yes - yes it is...

That's probably the same guy who has the best video of my AirNet Lear landing there - he truly does some fine work...

And Bill Womack is making KPDX for Flightbeam - which I'm looking forward to - as I sorely miss Vauchez's Flight Zone of the same area we had in FS9/FSX... Portland is just big enough - without being massive like the major Bravo's - which I prefer not to visit...

Scott

Pulsed landing lights come standard on later Falcons, like the 900EX. The landing light switch has two positions: “pulse” and “steady”.

The are available as a retrofit for the Falcon 50.

They do help make the aircraft more visible to other traffic.

Most operators who have them, use pulse mode full time during daylight operations below 10,000 feet. At night, they use steady mode for takeoffs and landings, and pulse mode the rest of the time.

Not to throw scott under the bus but..."charliearon" he literally posted the same EXACT picture I posted with the SAME copyright from the SAME website in the SAME way. Im just curious how my post was different? My apologies i didnt intend to cause problems..and no, it was not a photo hosting site it was a pasted "LINK" to the origional site. wont make that mistake again.

It's gotta be like this or it gets deleted if it's a copyrighted photo.

Any further questions on this, please read this: It applies to ALL forums.

just curious if anyone (on the web not just avsim) is doing any repaints for this bird? I literally pay to have this paint.

Hi Folks,

Hah - if I had to be paid for paints - nobody could afford it - it takes a considerable amount of time to do it right...

😜

This is potentially number one on my list - when I get around to picking up my paint brush - but - if anyone beats me to it - more power to you...

Been busy just learning the ropes with the Falcon - bug hunts - and I have a few other irons in the fire at the moment...

Scott

Hi Pat,

Hah - hence my issue - spent a few hours playing with colors yesterday - it needs to be silver - and silver is a hard color to make in FS... Uggh... Back to the drawing board... Might try adding a gradient shading the sides... Your feedback is most appreciated and very helpful - though...

Regards,

Scott

Hi Scott!

I like this grey very much! Could be a base for a new repaint.

Hi Scott,

Roger that...

I've had a little guidance from the Paint Master - Steve Drabek...

What we're missing to get a good looking silver is a bit of shading (artificial shine) via gradients - as in this example below - and a little bit of noise...  Or - LOL - some good PBR materials... I haven't had much time to paint - but now that I've started this one - I'll get'r done eventually...

Oh, if you need PBR materials, I can have a six-pack sent to you ASAP. Easy fix. 🍺

(bad joke, but I needed a break from studying!)
