Falcon 50 "Air - Ground - Motor - Selector" - - - Problem ?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

Re: P3Dv4

OK - figured out how to run the APU - then start engines 2 and 3...

For some reason the "Air - Ground - Motor - Selector" for engine 1 seems spring loaded and stuck in "air" - it depresses to other positions but springs back when released... Pressing the start button on the respective engine does nothing - I'm assuming because the selector is in "air"...

Thanks...

Regards,
Scott

Scott - I don't seem to have that problem.

They are 3 way toggle switches. You need to left or right click depending on the direction. Not just left click. Just left click will go to air and that's it. All 3 way switches work this way in our projects.

Hi Folks,

Yep - understand - the switches for engine 2 and engine 3 - work as just you stated - engine 1 goes down to "ground" or "motor" position when pressed - but bounces back to "air" half a second after I let go... Like it was a momentary switch in the RW...

Restarted my sim to be sure... Same deal... I downloaded this version this afternoon...

Thanks guys...

Scott

That's really strange, have not seen that.

Hi Folks,

Re: P3Dv4

OK - completely deleted the aircraft - downloaded the new version just a few minutes ago - installed same - the switch circled in RED will not move to any position other than "AIR"... I just loaded the aircraft for the first time and touched nothing... The two switches to the right - note they start in "GND" which is different than #1- operate normally... I can't start engine 1 without moving this switch...

Is it me ?

Scott, that is really strange.  I think you are the only 'victim' having this issue so far. If you are uninstalling the a/c with the Programs and Features option in the Win10 Control Panel, after doing so go to where the F50 install was and make sure every folder has been removed. And if you have a program like Revo Uninstaller that does a more thorough uninstall that might be worth a try.

Hi Al,

Actually - I just deleted the folder - let me try the full uninstall - then do the full install again - stuck registry issue ?

To be clear - the switch moves - it's just spring loaded back to the position in which you see it - as soon as I release the mouse click...

Thanks for your patience...

Scott

Scott,

Are you loading the Falcon directly from the initial startup screen in the sim, or loading a default aircraft first? I’ve had good results doing it both ways, but perhaps the Falcon is “inheriting” a switch position from a previously loaded aircraft? Just a thought...

Good idea....... and I would also delete any saved Falcon 50 flights.

Scott, just a follow up. I noted in one of your posts on another topic that you mentioned you have a lot of different game controllers connected to your FS system. I wonder if one of them is somehow interfering or interacting with the Falcon and causing that one switch to lock always in air start mode?

Hi Al/Jim,

Thanks you both for your time and insights - I have it working now but I have no explanation as to how I fixed it...

I use SimStarter - with different profiles to start the various programs I need - I've restarted the sim clean - by itself at least two dozen times - nothing... I've spent a ton of hours trying to solve this... Different locations - different aircraft - then it just started working - I now went back and started adding program by program back into the mix - thinking for sure I'd find the smoking gun that would cause the fault again - but nothing - they all started without issue... I can't explain it but I am happy it's fixed...

I typically use:

  • TrackIR
  • Voice Attack (Voice Control)
  • ASP4/ASCA
  • ChasePlane
  • Ultimate Traffic
  • XMapsyV2 (connects iPad Garmin Pilot to P3D)

 Regards,

Scott

I was using SimStarter for about two weeks, but had some really strange thing happening with my PMDG 747.  PMDG support suggested that I not use SimStarter.

I quit using it and the problem went away after re-installing the P3Dv4 Client.

Hi Bob,

Maybe that was it - if so - first issue I'm aware of - hope it doesn't cause more issues as I don't know how I could go back to not using it...

Thanks...

Scott
