Falcon 50 Emergency Lighting Switch

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

Re: P3Dv4

Possible bug in the emergency lighting switch - when moved - turns the overhead lighting on - but - won’t turn it back off again... Once the lights are on - moving to either of the two other positions has no effect...

Regards,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Move the emergency lighting switch back to the off or armed position and then try pressing the dome light switch to turn the overhead lighting back off.

Cheers,

Jerome

On the Falcon, the dome light and cockpit emergency light are the same light. Though on the real aircraft, the light does go off when moving the switch from “on” to “arm”, sim limitations may prevent this. I just turn the light off with the dome light button once moving the switch to “arm”.

We will have this info in the user manual once we get the overhead panel information added.

When you turn on the emergency lighting the VC dome light will auto turn on. Press the black dome button light on the overhead to turn off.

The emergency light turns on the dome and the outside emergency lights. It also turns on some other emergency lights on in the cabin which we don't have.

The dome is only the dome light.

When using cold state and ready to start this will turn the emergency light to auto without enabling the dome as this should be left on auto. But reloading aircraft will disable it.

Actually in the real aircraft, you would not want to leave the switch in auto position when going cold and dark. When the switch is in auto mode, and you kill aircraft power by turning the main battery switches off, the emergency lights will automatically come on, when they sense that main bus power has been lost.

There are several discrete emergency light battery packs in different locations within the aircraft to power various lights. When the emergency light switch is placed in auto while main aircraft power is on, those batteries are all trickle charged to keep their voltage topped off, so the switch should indeed be moved to auto before taxi commences.
