New datarefs required

Recommended Posts

Hi, I couldn't contact the RXP team on ticket system because of some error messages.

So, here is my issue. I bought the RXP GTN650 and integrated into my own development (C152). I'd like to ask if it would be possible to provide different navigation messages (modes) by some new datarefs to other plugins/instruments (like VNAV, VLOC, GPS, LNAV+V, etc.)?

In real life GTN650/750 are often used together with a digital PFD/HSI device, for example a possible and liked factory solution is the Garmin G5.
These devices can read those navigation modes through canbus connection, so HSI will also provide these useful information in front of the pilot.

Another technical question, but perhaps related to Garmin Trainer itself. HSI pilot vnav dots(values) are only working for Visual/LNAV+V approaches but stands at a constant when navigating through legs. Is it the same in the real GTN650 + HSI?

Here is a short demo of my actual G5 HSI implementation in my plane:

Hi Adrian,

This is a nice looking G5! Thank you for sharing the video.

I've sent you a private message for the first half of your message.

As for VCDI 'enroute', I'm not entire sure. The latest GTN software v6.50 adds VNAV mode and vertical profile (altitudes). The VCDI could be commanded, or at least the F/D, vertically enroute. However, I suspect this could be the case only when using one of the latest Garmin autopilot.

Thank you for your reply, I hope I'll be able to figure test this a real device soon.
The G5 on the video is still WIP so I'll share a much better video soon.
