Touch Input no longer possible with Chrome

Recommended Posts

Hello

I mainly use SimServer on my Surface Pro 4 with Google Chrome. Since Chrome v70, if I remember it correctly, the Touch Input has stopped working. I'm still able to click the Keys with the Mouse, however no Touch Input is possible. Maybe anything in newer Chrome Releases broke some stuff?

I'm currently using Microsoft Edge, here the Touch Input works without any problems.

Thanks.

Hi Simon.

in general, my recommendation is to use the most 'native' browser.

That's Chrome on Android, Safari on IOS and Edge on Windows tablets.

Note - this recommendation applies to Remote Server - it's not a general browser suggestion.

Since Chrome works well on Android devices, I guess this is a regression on Chrome's side with Windows.

Regards

Mark

Just wanted to bring this up again. With Microsoft moving the Edge Browser to the Chromium Engine, SimServer no behaves exactly the same as Chrome with the latest Edge Beta. No Touch Inputs are possible.

I use a gateway PC which has the touch screen and i had to do the following:

To enable these settings, enter chrome://flags in Chrome's address bar. Then scroll down until you find these two settings: Touch Optimized UI and Enable touch events. Use the drop-down boxes to enable both.

Once i did that, i now have a 22 inch tablet basically LOL

Thanks @DocPadds!

The Options are named slightly different in the latest Chrome Builds, however enabling them worked like a charm:

Touch UI Layout: Enabled
Touch Events API: Enabled
