Recommended Posts

Carenado PC-12 RXP GTN750 and RXP GNS530

Install RXP GTN750 first

1. Run F1GTN750PC12.exe located in the Carenado PC12 folder.

2. Start sim.

3. Go to Menu | Add-ons | Reality XP GTN | Setup Aircraft.

Select Replace Gauges with RXP GTN (auto detect)
WmO89hC.jpg

Click on the left side triangles to colapse or expand. Your selections should be as followed. Window 8 - GTN 750 1 and VCockpit05 GTN 750 1, No Bezel.
tQevfOw.png

Review your selections and Accept.

4. Press Shift + 7 and select Ready for taxi. The RXP GTN750 should start up including the default Carenado GNS.

Install the RXP GNS530

5. Go to Menu | Add-ons | Reality XP GNS | Setup Aircraft.
Carenado did not provide a popup for the GNS530. We will add that later.

Select Replace Gauges With RXP GNS (auto detect)
ydOzz8W.png

Under VCockpit01 select GNS 530 2.
Make sure to select the forth gauge entry highlighted in yellow.

Review and Accept.

Adding the GNS 530 popup window.
Open panel.cfg with a text editor located in the Carenado panel folder.

Under [Window Titles] delete Window09= and Window10.
Add Window09=Reality XP GNS 530

Should now look like this:
[Window Titles]
Window00=EX500
Window01=EADI EHSI
Window02=AUTOPILOT
Window03=ENGINE
Window04=TOGGLE CONTROL
Window05=INFO
Window06=ENGINE SETUP
Window07=START

Window08=Reality XP GTN Unit 1 (managed)
Window09=Reality XP GNS 530

Adding the window popup section:

Scroll down to [Window09] replace with the following:

[Window09]
size_mm=100,100
window_pos=0.000000,0.455000
window_size=0.255208,0.345595
visible=0
zorder=99
background_color=0,0,0
ident=15532

gauge00=rxpGNS2!GNS_530_2, 0, 0,100,100

In the Carenado PC 12 folder open RealityXP.GNS.ini.
Scroll down to [GNS_530_2.DEFAULT] look for popleft = and add 15532.

; left mouse button on the screen toggles popup window by ident (ex: GPS_PANEL or 225).
popleft = 15532

Open RealityXP.GTN.ini
Scroll down to [GTN_750_1.DEFAULT] look for popright = and add 14401

; right mouse button on the screen toggles popup window by ident (ex: GPS_PANEL or 225).
popright = 14401

At the very bottom add:

[GTN_750_1.NO_BEZEL]
popright = 14401
; offset brightness (-100 to +100)
brightness.screen = 0

If the GTN 750 screen is too bright adjust it with the brightness.screen = setting above. I start with -50.

Hi! Bill,

Could you make a guide for milviz 310 redux? Like MilViz 310R Redux RXP GTN750.

Thanks,

I have tried everything and followed the trouble shooting guide in the manual and have not been able to get past the drop down menu in the sim.  Once I hit the drop down a window appears similar to the one shown in the manual where I should be able to make the selections to set up the gauge and related options.  The window either locks up and I have to use task manager to close FSX SE or it locks up and crashes.

Because I have not been able to install any gauge there are no log files.  My dll.xml contains the same lines as in the trouble shooting part of the manual.

Steam FSX-SE

I have an Alienware Aurora R6.

Intel Core i7-770 @3.60Hz, 3.6 GHz

64bit.

Windows 10.

Ram 16 GB

Nvidia  GeForce GTX 1080 Driver version 417.35

8192 MB GDDR 5x memory

Attempting to install into Carenado PC-12

Thanks

Hello You will no doubt detect how "new" I am to flt simming, what does RXP signify in the article?, I am thinking of buying the P12 from Carenado but I have no idea if I can use the F1GTN 750 in the virtual Cockpit Instrument panel or how to do it, is this known as a mod?

The carenado web site for the A/C says the GTN 750 is compatible and will work /intergrate I relly need some help here on how I would do this ie practical steps etc.

I really do not want to invest in the A/C if I cannot achieve the options indicated in the product information if I cannot make it happen.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers Charlie

Hi @charliemcewan

The RXP GTN 750 will definitely work in the PC-12.
Just follow the first 4 steps above only for a single GTN 750 (Virtual Cockpit and popup). To open and close the popup click on the top of the virtual cockpit GTN bezel (gauge frame).

The remaining steps are for the additional setup for the RXP GNS530.

It's important to read the GTN users manual for more information.

@charliemcewan

This forum is for everything Reality XP. I don't have the f1. The RXP is a far better product. And also excellent support here.

You don't need the F1 GTN. The F1 is a different brand from the Reality XP (RXP) GTN. The RXP GTN is designed to replace the F1 brand. The .exe file mentioned in step 1 above is for creating the location for placing the RXP GTN.

Here is the site for the Reality XP GTN 750 & 650. http://www.reality-xp.com/ The (RXP GTN 750) will fit the VC perfectly with the PC12 by following the first 4 steps of instructions above.

Thank you Bill for helping out. I'm unfortunately mostly AFK (broken finger).

@charliemcewan RXP is the short form for Reality XP.

Besides, F1 is our e-commerce procurement partner. There exists another product with a similar name but it has nothing to do with the genuine Reality XP whatsoever.

This aircraft doesn't ship with a RXP configuration but the RXP GTN is designed to replace the F1 GTN on the panel. You can take advantage of RXP's sophisticated in-sim Panel Assistant to accomplish the swap like described.

As for the genuine RXP GTN 750/650 Touch product:

Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch is the genuine simulated device users are counting on, whether pilots familiarizing themselves with the workings of the actual equipment or flight simulation enthusiasts navigating the virtual skies with the most complete series of GTN devices. Reality XP's unmatched expertise for nearly two decades, offer new capabilities only available in our products, and it shows!

Bert, this member submitted two posts for approval that appeared to be duplicates.  I removed one of them and approved the other but, obviously, the wrong one.  I have restored the other one and removed the other one.  Hope this is not too confusing....
