I recently purchased the RXP 530W sim and was hoping for a newer database- no such luck. I have a Jeppesen sub but didn't know how to get that info into the Garmin GNS Trainer and thence into the RXP sim. But, I figured it out!
Herewith a method for updating the database, PROVIDED you can get a copy of the Jeppesen NavData update file. It's possible you need the Waas version; that's all I have.
Using Jepp's JDM, choose to download the file, i.e. don't do a "Transfer to Device". It
I might have said this already in the forum, but just that you know, the GNS trainer lite v3.3 we are using for our GNS V2 is also compatible with the G500/600 Jeppesen database. You may want to try searching the net for more information: "AIRAC 1810 GTN 750/650" or in French: "Mise à jour des cycles Aviation database GNS430W/530W".
@IFRguy my post above is really 'generic' and not addressed to anyone in particular. It is just additional knowledge which may help anyone looking for different avenues to updating the DB. Tip: you don't need to:
You can use the environment variables documented in our User's Manuals to redirec
i have successfully bought an navdata-db at Jeppsen for an G600 without having an real GNS/GTN nor an aircraft.
I bought the update only for central europe (because its the area i fly most) and paid about € 52.
Finally i got an simply-ZIP File via JDM which contains an "avtn_db.bin" AND an "nav_db2.bin".
So i have got an actual and working navdb for the GNS and GTN 🙂 🙂
Here is a non-exhaustive table of different GNS Trainer compatible DB:
GNS Trainer | Database Type/Region | Serial Number | GNS DB (latest) | Substitute / comments
bmap.bin | Worldwide Land | n/a | n/a | mg1000-ww-20M3 (G1000)
| | | | mg600-ww-20M3 (G600/G500/G500H)
