If it’s not capable of seasonal textures, I could care less. Flying in NE in December, with bright green landscapes Is an immersion killer.  That’s why I dabble In X-PLANE in the summer; However, if ORBX is able to providing seasonal textures, that’s a game changer for me....

Just pretend its summer all year long 🙂 I highly doubt they will provide seasonal textures, it would look kind of funny with summer looking airports. But worry not, xenviro has dynamic snow coming soon!

Perhaps with the methods used by xEnviro, we won't need seasonal textures 🙂

I do not about the method of xEnviro, but if ORBX Global would come with own textures (ground and trees) for spring, summer, autumn and winter that would really be a game changer! I do not care about a replacement of the standard summer textures as usually I use ortho scenery in summer...

Chris

The next Xenviro will do real-time snow accumulation, even on orthophotos. Swapping textures for different reasons will soon be a thing of the past.

The snow looks amazing. And I think that's Santa with his sled rushing over the runway in the mid of the video.

Now that is the game changer.

Texture base solution is the thing of the past. Why anyone think that texture base solution is something to be desired where you have snow on the ground before the snow comes and no accumulation after the storms leaves. It was good solution in its day of limited resources but now particle system is the future of seasonal changes and what everybody should want.

I’ve never been much of a fan of Orbx global textures. They may be better than FSX default, because, after all, what wouldn’t be. But they aren’t as nice as XP default textures.

And the “accumulation” effect in that video looks awful and totally unrealistic, although the final snow cover looks fine.

But at least convincing enough compared to summer textures?
