Throttle Quadrant

I am finally in the market for new flight sim hardware and I am having a hard time finding solid reviews on certain well known throttle quadrants. 

For years I have been stuck with the Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant, I am ready to retire the set and get some serious hardware. I already have Yoko the yoke in my shopping cart so all I am looking for is a throttle quadrant. I want something on the lines of an airliner throttle and not a GA aircraft throttle quadrant. My budget is $1,000. 

I would prefer a full metal build with excellent quality and performance in terms of no deadzones etc.

The Yoko is a great yoke but just in case you don't know it Virtual Fly is soon to release the Yoko 2 (or Yoko Plus), which will have contactless sensors and a hat switch. I would ask them about this before buying a Yoko.

Is Yoko 2 in the same price range as the current Yoko? Roughly when is Yoko 2 expected to launch?

Can't say for definite, but they posted this on their Facebook on 4th December:

"Can you see/feel it? Our PLUS series will be ready for all our Flight Controls by the end of 2018. Expect news very very soon". I think the TQ6+ and TQ3+ were pretty much the same price as the originals.

I have a new VirtualFly TQ6 Plus on it's way to me. I'm really looking forward to the new addition of Hall Sensors on the unit. The potentiometers on the old unit were it's only weakness. Based on my experience of the old model TQ6 I think the new plus is a good throttle quadrant choice to consider. The TQ6 has a great realistic feel and is set up to accommodate reverse thrust and prop feathering. Also has tension adjustments. Very easy setup with the VirtualFly utility.

Haven't missed my old Saitek "toys" for a moment since switching over to VirtualFly. Currently using the Yoko, the TQ6 and Ruddo pedals. Well worth the price of admission.

I think I'll stick to VirtualFly and get Yoko 2 and the TQ6 throttle quadrant.

I think you will be very satisfied with your choice. Be sure you order the TQ6 "plus" that has the Hall Sensors.

I got my TQ6+ back in November and can say much improvement over the old ones with pots. No calibration necessary  with the new one, it just works out of the box. Assign the axis and go. My old saitek stuff is in a box waiting for the grandkid to show some interest.  Josh

Did you order directly from VirtualFly, or do they have a US distributor?

I just ordered the VirtualFly TQ6+ from Jetline. Will probably see it around January 7th. I’ve not done business with Jetliner before, but was very impressed by their customer service. Due to a glitch in their e-commerce web page, my CC accidentally got charged more than once. Greg fixed the problem immediately by refunding the spurious charges. I can highly recommend this vendor.

I did a 3-hour flight in the FSW Falcon 50 last night, and constantly had to fiddle with the three power levers on my old CH quadrant to keep the N1 settings matched in cruise due to axis jitter. It will be a joy to work with a quadrant that does not have that problem.

Once installed, all my primary controllers will be now Hall effect. I will continue to use an older Saitek three lever secondary controller which is dedicated for the spoiler/speedrake axis for add-ons so equipped, but my main use for that unit is to assign various functions to the three two-way switches.
