Non sequential order error

Recommended Posts

using 1.39b06

I have an addon - MAIW that installs a world scenery entry at layer 4 and several others at layer 247,8.

Due to the long load times when MAIW is enabled, I figured I'd putr them in a group and enable/disable as necessary.

My problem - when I disable the world entry at layer 4 and try to save - I get the non sequential order error and it won't save. (BTW, as an aside - in other ops when I make a change, the save button turns red - when enabling/disabling groups it does not)

How can I  a) get rid of he error and b) make sure the entry goes back at layer 4 when re-enabled. I'm assuming the MAIW installer puts it there for a reason - perhaps it makes no difference?

Thanx,

Vic

edit: after reading a few other posts on the subject, I manually looked at the numbering and just cannot see an issue except when I remove layer 4, there is an error and it goes from 3 to 5. BTW did try auto layer - no help.

Hello vic,

I have just uploaded 1.39 b09 to the Lorby-SI site. This should fix the issue with group de-activation leaving gaps in the scenery.cfg

Best regards

If I can't get to it tonight, I will tomorrow - I'll report back.

Thanx Oliver!

Vic

EDIT: ok, had a chance to try it.  No joy - I get the error if I disable the group at layer 4. Red save button shows. Tried installing over old version and uninstalling/reinstalling - same result

Hello Vic,

how are you disabling that group exactly? There may be a procedure that I don't "get". Does it contain other groups or is it contained in other groups? Do you have one of the "laws" activated on the tools page?

Best regards

Hi Oliver -

It is a single entry in the group. No laws active. I go into the groups tab, check the entry - all others are unchecked - click disable all entries - red save button shows and selected item is reddish - click save - get error.

Reset - move entry down one and save - all good - all active - select entry - disable all entries - red save button - error at this position also.

Hello Vic,

I'm sorry, but I can't reproduce that behavior on my end using version 1.39 b09. Is the scenery in question an internal or an external one?

I have created a new group, then added an external and an internal scenery at layers 2 and 3. No matter how I enable or disable the group, I never get this error message - ??

Best regards

Hmm -  it's the MAIW add on - their installer creates the xml and inserts that item at layer 4. I'm pretty sure the xml file is shown in the files I up-loaded.

What else could cause the error Oliver?

Vic

Hello Vic,

Only a P4AO version before 1.39 b09 could.

Did you try deleting the group and recreating it? Not that I expect something to change, this is just curiosity...

The scenery that is mentioned in the non-seq exception - is that the same one?

Best regards

Yes, i uninstalled the addon and reinstalled, recreated the group. Yes, it just happens with this particular scenery.

Responded to your PM.

Just a wild guess here - on my system in the scenery.cfg, I have default layers 1,2,5,6  etc...

Layers 3,4 are addons - layer3 is My base layer which is added via P4AO and layer 4 is added by the MAIW installer - could that affect things?
