Flightbeam KPDX is out!

I just came in here to post the same thing. The ground textures have that fuzzy 'moire' effect that I am seeing on a lot of addon airports now.  It has always been an issue with FSDT textures (KCLT has it really bad) and I never had it at all on any other Flightbeam airports until this one. They look great during the day but at night it is not good with landing/taxi lights on. I think it is a side effect of optimizing the textures to look good during the day but this seems to have a negative effect with dynamic lighting.  I wonder why this is different than the other Flightbeam airports though...KMSP runway/taxiway textures are perfect at night.

Mipmap issue likely.

Keep in mind the actual area and how it performs without the added scenery. Portland while not as bad as say Seattle or Vancouver, BC is still harder on perfirmance than other areas. Adding higher detailed airport scenery on top is only going to add to this hit.

How does this compare with the FS9's Flightzone's KPDX and its surrounding small airports? I hope Orbx would do the Pearson airport to go with flightbeam;s KPDX

ORBX KVUO is made by Bill Womack, the same person that just made KPDX. They should work perfectly.

Really?  VUO has been an ORBX offering for 7 months now.

During ILS landing at 28R with PMDGs 738, I get one of these terrible long frames (3-4 seconds) directly after touch down. I got somehow used to these long pauses during flight and approach phases but directly at landing it is a immersion killer. :-(

Love the airport.  Seems to perform okay for me...however, the night time runway texture is horrible.  Totally agree with statements previously made about it.  I'm only a simmer so I don't understand why some airports have amazing night time runway textures and some look like....well..some kind of mosaic art.

Purchased and installed.

I had to use the troubleshooter to disable 4 Orbx Pacific NW BGL files (just ran the FlightBeam mgmt tool) - before I did this the Sode Jetway was about 10ft too high (see pic)

Which files did you have to disable?  I'm having the same problem.

Edit: Nevermind.  I figured it out.  I never noticed that troubleshooting tool in the Flightbeam Manager.  Very handy 😊

Thank you,

Bob

Just seems odd to release such a highly prized airport from such a hi-end developer with such a glaring issue. Also, I thought all FB sceneries could be installed in trial mode, but looking on their website I can't see any reference to this option. Any ideas?

Wow. One has to wonder how much beta testing was done given all of those misplaced taxiway hatch marks.
