Jensen Huangs future aside, listening to the video I think the idea that stand-alone GPUs will become a thing of the past is nonsense for the foreseeable future. Gamers will always want the latest, most powerful GPUs they can afford and integrating them into the CPU will effectively remove the graphics upgrade path without a system upgrade. It may well work for workstations but not for gaming rigs.

Their execs have made a lot of shady policy and terrible decisions in the past year. Nvidia needs to have a C-suite shakeup if they are to recover. Starting with lowering their prices back down to reality would be step one. They've basically priced their higher end products out of the reach of 50% of their higher end customer base with their new generation products without any significant leap in performance.

It a combination of bad decisions and a weak video card market. nVidia knows that PC gaming is not where the money is in the future. Look at their present product lines:

5 years from now nVidia could be out of PC gaming entirely.

AMD purchased ATI Intel are employing GPU techs very few buy a sound card now days, and stand alone GPU could become a niche product VERY EXPENSIVE. out of reach on the slandered Gamer. And the 20 series GPU could be replaced before the end of 19.

But very specific. Intel is working with Facebook to produce a chip which could help with what researchers call inference - for example tagging friends in photos automatically. AI is very dependent on the algorithm used so embedding it in the chip would seem to be limiting it's potential.

Yes but that's the problem for Nvidia all big guns are doing inhouse solution for AI development they don't need Nvidia which was a big play last year by Jensen and RTX.
