Jrollon CRJ-200 vs Aerosoft CRJ-700/900

Featured Replies

So I've been putting a lot of hours into FSX:SE and also got into VATSIM with the Aerosoft CRJ-700 and I must say it's one of my favorite addons for any flight sim, along with the MJC Q400, FF757v2 (XP11), and PMDG aircraft of course. But I want a CRJ-200 in my collection!

So how does the Jrollon CRJ-200 compare with the Aerosoft CRJ's? Does it have as good systems modeling as the Aerosoft? Is it worth 50 bucks? Would I enjoy it on VATSIM? I found mixed reviews on it, so hopefully someone can fill me in on how it compares in quality?

IMO, its not 1/2 bad but not as complete as the AS crj. The Rollins is, like many Xplane aircraft addons, not been completed or still in deleopment.

The old CRJ is in its core still an X-Plane 10 plane. They started the development of a new version. But the problem is that Philip is nowadays one of the Laminar developers and doesn't have so much time for this plane. So in the opinion of JRollon the project is currently on hold.

The JRollon CRJ was a great addon when it was released...in 2011. That was a long time ago. To answer your question in a nutshell, the Aerosoft CRJ is a lot better and I think you will be disappointed with the JRollon one. I sure had a lot of hours in it myself but as time moves on, so does flight simulator advancements. I would recommend you sit tight and see what SSG comes out with, they are currently in development of the CRJ-700.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

My advice would be the Aerosoft CRJ. Would be much better to use on Vatsim. I use it quite often.

Thanks for the replies all, yall have answered my question here and I'll hold off on the CR2. As for the CR7, I am in love with the Aerosoft CRJ-700 and it's ALL I have been flying in my past 30 hours on FSX, I cant get enough of it!
