August 14, 200619 yr Now this may seem a strange thing to do (ie make FSX run at 800x600) but for those of us who have an Emagin Z800 is is quite important. Unfortunately whilst this little gizmo is great for its 3d effect, it doesn't show any image (at least not a correctly proportioned image) at anything more than 800x600. This is probably one of the reasons it hasn't really caught on. Anyway back to the point of the post. Because of this limitation and the fact that the FSX demo settings only allow a minimum of 1024x768 users had a choice. Don't use it or run it at a higher resolution but with quite a distorted image. Well I thought to myself what happens if I go into the FSX.cfg file and change the setting "Mode=1024x768x32" to "Mode=800x600x32". I know the opening screen (which comes up in windowed mode) needs to be at 1024 x 768 in order to see everything but I couldn't think of any reason why the flight screen couldn't be less. The result? It works. I know it's meaningless for most users but for the samll minority that have the Z800 it's very good news. I hope it works on the full product.
