Vertx Diamond- Wow.

Bought it today and made some circuits and two shorter test flights.. I am very impressed!

But considering the overall quality, I really miss rain effects on the windshield and visible icing effects. That would make the immersion complete. The A2A rain effects are available for devs at no cost, I really hope Sean will consider it.

Dynamic lighting and SID/STAR support in conjunction with the FSAerodata pack would make it perfect then.

There will be a2a rain in a later update

I was a tester on the plane...back in November I packed up my PC and I haven't flown a sim since

At this time there is not A2A "rain" for multi engines. A2A works on it...

That doesn't mean Sean isn't working on it too (he is).  The release is an SDK for devs.

If you can't do without wx radar, get the Rex WX Advantage Radar (for $15.95 ). As a plus, you can install it on any plane you own.

Navigraph is already usable, by usage of FSAerodata https://www.fsaerodata.com/ Give it a try, those who already subscribed Navigraph pay about 9 $ for 3 months. Best of both worlds, because when using Navigraph alone, you often would miss 30% of the airports, see my video part 2 (see my signature), go to 24:40.

GTN750's database is outdated, a lot of the newer GPS LPV approaches, which add/replace ILS at many airports, are missing.

A2A's rain effects are advertised since (November or) December as "Now with multi-engine support".

What the Vertxsim DA62 already offers is an unparalleled light twin flight experience. Yes, there are opportunities for Sean to further refine and add nuances, however, if you want to experience “light twin engined FLIGHT” on your desktop- this is the penultimate experience.

The very first time you leave the runway and realize YOU ARE FLYING, you will regret each day you waited 🙂

One opinion, no more.

Good news!

Not having access to the whole page (I'm not a developer), I stayed with this Lewis post dated 07 December :

She is for sure a fantastic aircraft. Just flew a pretty complex approach into LOWI (RNAV GNSS Y 08) and she did it like

the big ones. I do have fsAerodata now and it is worth it.

How does this G1000 come through on frame rates, etc.

I can fly Carenado's planes with G1000's in them but I do take a frame rate hit and In the end don't bother using them.

I would like to get one with a G1000 but I'm always hesitant about performance

I have an old I7-930 o/c to 3.8 6G ram onboard and a GTX 960 w/4G

Ciao!

That's a dinosaur rig haha.  I'd say you'd notice a fps hit because of how old your machine is.  Mine is only 1 gen newer but I've got a GTX 980

I am having no frame rate issues with GTX 980, wait till next week for in depth review of this bird.  I haven't even simmed with my other addons.  Infact, I uninstalled them already.  This is the dream plane - especially in VR also....

Even in real life (when I get a chance), I will never fly this bird in heavy weather, it really isn't designed for it (even though it is FKII approved).  It is a General Aviation aircraft.

In VR, I literally can hear the wind hitting the doors etc, it feels so alive in it.  Strong winds generated by Active Sky over mountain areas do affect the flight characteristics.

Enjoy

I have a much older rig and the Diamond performs very well on my system. I have a GTX 1050.
