MSI GTX 1080Ti.............is it good?

Recommended Posts

Just bought a brand new MSI GTX 1080Ti GPU abroad although I really wanted an EVGA but could not get it for love or money.

How good is the MSI make? Even though it is a 1080Ti, is it on par with other 1080Tis?

Thanks for any tips/opinions shared.

It’s quite good. I have one installed after I bought it trough Amazon USA more than one year ago and so far it’s very reliable.

What I would never recommend is to buy MSI laptops. Very, very bad experience with one that died off recently after suffering from different issues (SSD failure, scratched surface on several keys of the keyboard, and lately a BIOS failure).

Good luck anyway!

Cheers, Ed

Thanks for that just-GPU endorsement, Ed, except for that 'quite good' bit. My favourite is EVGA and having just re-built a friend's PC abroad, the EVGA GT460 card I had fitted for her about 4 years back, still functioned well.

Hi Rick:

Before installing the MSI GTX1080Ti I had the GTX980 also from MSI and it worked perfectly well for almost three years. I just changed my GPU looking for more frames and fluidity.

And yes, it´s just a GPU endorsement. I wish I could recommend also their gaming laptops, but I can not.

Cheers, Ed

I travel maybe 2-4 times a year, and keep away from desktops, laptops. Just a smartphone for ticket OCRs, etc. Sufficient for me
