737 night flight how to switch on the lights

Recommended Posts

hi, long time now, when i try to make a night flight, from dark and cold, in p3d v4 everything is too dark. even if i put my monitor in full brightness i just see the button at the head panel to swich on the battery, lights etc.

is there a key combination that does that? like the L key or shift L  , control L etc in other fsx/p3d simple planes? or a trick like in x plane where we have the flash light tool ? 🙂

thank you very much

Please sign your posts as per pmdg forum requirements.

There is a dome light between the upper and Lower overhead. On the captain side and fo side there are panel/floodlights. And one on 5e pedestal near the captain seat.

Bank account number and password and maybe your credit card info??😱  OK, just kidding!  Isn't there some lighting sliders or boxes to be checked in P3D?  I have heard many folks remarking about dynamic lighting and such.

thanks charliearon but i have tried everything. if somebody has a combination that it works he can send me his slider numbers to try them also. or a photo from his night upper panel.

to me is 100% black in normal screen brightness. only if put my screen to 100% brightness i can see just a little but again not enough to be able to switch one anything.

thanks headley, very clever 🙂 but now i need something ... more 🙂 the dome lights will not light on without the battery switched on 🙂 is there a key combination to switch on the battery?

again the default one didn't work.

Well, the simplest way is to save a panel state with ground power available and Batt Switch ON😀

A bit more complicated but with a lot of benefits is LINDA with the use of the B737-module.

It's a free application, once installed i gives you the possibility to assign a button or switch (or even a key combo, but NOT an axis) to (almost) any virtual button in the NGX, including the Batt Switch.

You have to read yourself through a bit of limited manuals, but installation i simple (no complicated exe's) and support is very good.

Maybe there are even simpler solutions for your problem but this is what i use.

Oliver at Lorby has created a flashlight a person can use inside a dark plane.  The app is available for free at his website.

thank you MrDirt, with p3d v4.4 and chaseplane it does't work unfortunately. at least for me. but it would be perfect if there was a working tool like that even payware.

well if  you  memorize  where the batt  switch is  and  the  dome  light  switch is😀 is  what I normally  do  since I know  where  they  are

Use fsuipc or LINDA to program a key or hardware button to turn the battery on. You can do the same then for the dome lighting or use the PMDG key mapping section on the CDU. All it takes then is CLICK CLICK and you have plane power on and a lit cockpit!

You can simulate for a few seconds daylight time and revert back to night modus when battery switch is on😉
