Learjet L35A Ver 4.0 Update Available

Recommended Posts

The FSW L35A ver 4.0 update is now available exclusively from the FSW store. After a few days it will be sent to the other stores that carry FSW aircraft. In the meantime, FSW would appreciate feedback on v4.0 from those who can now download it.

Here is a list of the most significant changes in v4.0:

Learjet 35A Improvements January 2019

   1.    New autopilot panel with real world layout. Includes new buttons and new modes and lights for increased realism. For example, a LRN (Long Range Navigation) light   now indicates GPS course capture on the NAV mode button as in the real a/c. A FNL (Final) light indicates when your setup for approach and under 1000 AGL.

2.  Developed a GPS Configuration tool that allows the user to configure the L35 panel with different GPS options from Flight1 and Reality XP (max of two GPS units plus the WX Radar) without having to reinstall the aircraft each time. You must own the Flight1 or Reality XP units to use them; a GNS530 by FSW is included with the Lear35.

3.      Improved Flight Director response time when the Flight Director is deselected (removed delay when FD arms retract.)

4.      Updated landing and taxi lights. Landing lights now better illuminate the runway starting from a height of about 100ft as viewed from the cockpit.

5.      Combined the Altitude Alerter and Altimeter gauges as will be required by the FAA starting in 2020.

6.      Updated cockpit lighting to improve visibility of switches at night.

7.      Updated electrical system with more accurate voltages and to better simulate HSI and Altimeter gauge dependency on electrical power.

8.      Fixed bug causing cabin pressure knob to get stuck.

9.      Fixed an inherent sim bug that allowed the RMI to incorrectly point towards a Localizer signal source.

10.      Updated Glide Slope capture code to better warn of Glide Slope deviations.

11.  Updated calibration of the AOA gauges for improved realism.

12.  Improved accuracy of the engine ITT gauges.

13.  Updated the flight dynamics.

14.  Made a number of minor updates such as adding sound to the No Smoking and Seatbelt switches, relocated the Avionics switch, removed some erroneous sounds, etc.

15.  New navigation, strobe and beacon lights resized for P3D.

16.  The P3D preview window will now show the aircraft model at the correct alignment and size.

17.  Added missing cigarette lighter plug and audio jacks in the cabin for each station.

18.  Updated the Flight Manual with Hyperlinks (revision of this manual is an ongoing process).

Brilliant! So many useful changes especially the panel manager. I have been using a modded version as pointed out in another thread... I see I will have to completely remove and install the plane again as there are now obviously panel changes so I can't just back up and restore those. Did you also change the air file as I had that modded too?

Finally the mod I enjoy the most is the flight status save where the plane panel state is saved with every sim save and restored on load. Is this feature built in to the default yet?

Once again great list of changes and improvements! Your Lear is so enjoyable to fly.

It was the pitch, roll and yaw settings that were updated in the air file, but exactly how or what I don't know.

There have been no changes as far as state saving is concerned.

Turbine temp gauges seem inop. Everything else functions but those two.

Just as a comment - the new alt setting gauge seems like an afterthought. The color scheme seems out of place. The rest of the panel looks sculpted and worn but that blue white image looks strange to me.

Code for the ITT gauges was accidentally left out of v4.0, so ver 4.0a has been uploaded to the FSW store for download.

Here is a night shot of an actual altimeter/alerter gauge from a L35.

And here is a shot from the FSW L35, although a day shot.  Reasonably close, I think.

Check that the master autopilot toggle switch is on. This switch is located on the lower panel below the pilot's RMI gauge. Clicking Ready to Start on the 2D popup (Shift+1) will also turn on this switch so the AP should work.

I know, I don't like it in the real thing either. Sorry, just being grumpy, I realize you're trying to be faithful to the original.  I'll get the update for the gauges.

Thanx!

Vic,

Truth be told, I don't like the looks of the real altimeter gauge either with that embedded LCD screen, but it is what it is!  😉

Good news, let us known when available on other vendors, please.

Thanks

When I re-downloaded yesterday from a third party vendor, it was still v3...so, I guess in a few weeks or so, the third party vendors will have uploaded v4

My download link has expired at fspilotshop, hope I'm not out of luck for getting this update, as they want me to pay full price just to reactivate the download link.

fspilotshop shows the last file update as August 23, 2018.

Thanks for reply...

Yes i turned it on, a basic step for any Certified Virtual Learjet Pilot!!! 😎 , and the autopilot works, i press buttons and they work perfectly, climb, descent, turning On/Off autopilot......   but the button lighting is not working at all...

Reinstall and see what happen.....? Lets just wait for the new update to be released to vendors... and get airborne instead  😅✌️
