Did you receive your Odyssey plus ?

I just bought one and also consider to move from my Rift. But Flyinside don't support the higher resolution and the view is quite bad, getting cockeyed when taking them off.

Native VR in P3D 4.4 is okay, but performance is not too good ! Getting CTDs when running in to high resolution

Looking forward to hear other experiences

Claus

Yes and its running great...

P3d 4.4 doesn't work with Flyinside...

I'm running it with FSX only..so that's your problem right there

Well P3D 4.4 runs fine with Flyinside but it lowers the resolution so no fun. Running with native VR and Steam gives bad performance. Wong lower settings so low so Its acceptable. Gone back to my Rift for now

Well with Prepar3D there is always a trade off between performance and setting. Frame for Frame my experience is that the CPU bound setting have to be much lower with WMR than with a monitor. However if you have a 1080ti you can go wild with the GPU bound setting. It all works out in the end for me since autogen, LOD, and draw distance a far less important in VR than they are on a screen.

I use a handy little app FPSvr to balance the CPU and GPU to deliver 30fps on approach  with tubeliners and 45fps for GA. It also let you adjust super sampling.

It's a bit of a learning curve to get the best image and performance out of WMR in P3D. I just upgraded from a 980ti to a 1080ti and I think I can confidently say a 980ti won't cut it. I have found the experience with the 1080ti far superior!

Here is a little benchmark comparison that I made:

Hi Avidean

Great video much more bandwidth on the 1080 for sure.

Can you be so kind to share your settings in StreamVR and P3D ?

I think there are many setting in StreamVR about resolution, and what is the optimal in P3D ?

Just installed FPSVR and mine goes crazy ! not sure where to set the right resolution !

Thanks

Not to hijack the thread!

I have the Samsung Odyssey+ and it is quite good.

That being said I can't get the VR controllers to show in the Prepar3D V4.4 Cockpit. The headset works fine. I can't find very much troubleshooting information about why they don't work.

In X-Plane everything works flawlessly. Prepar3D not so much.

Can you advise if your WMR Controllers work in Prepar3D?

For a Samsung odyssey Application resolution adjustment should equal 140/150 to most closely match the native resolution of the HMD

Also try the below settings and see if they help:

WINDOWS SETTINGS (your mileage may vary)

Settings>Windows Settings>Mixed Reality>

1. Headset display

a. Visuals :Visual quality = Very High (beta)
b. Experience Options :change>60Hz

GRAPHIC DRIVER (precautionary)

Uninstall Nvidia 3D Vision drivers

Thanks for taking your time !

And what about settings in StreamVR. Feels like there are many places to set resolution etc. How many % override do you use ?

It's a bit confusing at first. leave the default setting at 200 automatic, then change the per application settings to match the desired SS, which should be about 140 to match the Samsungs native resolution.

Do this in fpsvr as the settings and their results are clearer there, and can also be changed in realtime to observe the results.

By the way, note that it's possible to set a different application SS for each game, and that setting will be saved.

Flyinside is its own standalone VR compositor independent of SteamVR.

It will ignore any outside resolution software and only apply whats in its own

I find the native Prepar3D V4.4 VR very good at this point.

I use a Microsoft Sidewinder Forced feedback 2 for all my flying. Programming the FMC I would not do in VR. But everything else in the NGZ works just fine using the mouse.
