I was misled in that the Lear update installed and then ran OK

I followed with the Falcon update which did not work

Obviously P3D would have been closed between update procedures but this seemed not to be enough

A full computer shut down did the trick

It is unusual for me to be doing such major updates/installs back to back so a full computer shutdown and restart occurs normally-shutdown overnight 

Learnt my lesson
