CaptainSim 757 Freighter released, maybe?

Recommended Posts

Looks like CaptainSim has or is about to release the 757 Freighter Expansion for $49.99. Not sure if it includes all the engine models or if you need the RR model for the RR freighters. It lets you get to checkout but it won't except PayPal payment.

PayPal says to try again later when you check out. I’m glad it’s not working now. Saved me $50, 😂

Their web page says you do not need the RR expansion.

Talking to a friend who purchased it, you are correct it comes with all the different freighter models. He said the problem is there are no Freighter Repaints option under Online in the ACE program.

Why do flight simmers purchase overpriced expansions on Day 1?  If people would have some sort of self-control and not have a trigger reflex, maybe the prices would come down.

Did he say which liveries come with the package?

Well, yes, not cheap.  But then again it's the only current mid-sized freighter available for P3Dv4, now and for the foreseeable future.  Nobody else that I know of is doing an advanced A300, A310, B767, MD-10, or MD-11 add-on for 64-bit P3D.  I like my PMDG 777 and 747 freighters, but there are a whole bunch of add-on (and real-world) airports where you just can't fit a ginormous 200-plus foot widebody freighter, so for the freight dawgs, I think this add-on is gonna be a thing.

I bought the base model during the CS $25 sale over Christmas (so if you feel really strongly about prices, you can wait until you find it on sale), and it's turned out to be surprisingly decent--actually better than I expected based on past history with their FS9 and FSX add-ons.  The CS757 III is a little bit quirky, needs a few minor FDE tweaks, but it's stable and does the basics well enough.  If you're Jonesing for a 757/767 in P3Dv4, it's kinda the only game in town.

What I sense is different this time around is that it appears they've stuck with this one and (so far) keep fixing issues, rather than their old modus operandi of releasing an 80% complete product, promising to fix the other 20%, and then moving on without ever addressing the issues.

Regards

The only liveries that come with the F is house colors. Apparently users provide the repaints. Not even a UPS, FedEx or DHL was ready for release.
