Carenado EMB505 Phenom 300 G1000/Navigraph Issues

Recommended Posts

For reference, I'm on P3D v4.3, with 4.4 downloading just in case 4.4 fixes something. Navigraph FMS Data Manager is at 1.7.3.1201, which I think is the latest and my AIRAC is at 1901.

In reading through this thread -

...I see that I should have a .db file under the CarenadoNavigraph folder and I do not. I also see I should have a .dll file in the main p3d folder and I do not. I've tried reinstalling about a dozen times and when I add the extension, I'm going to Addon Mappings, hitting Add and selecting Carenado (all products), making sure I hit install in Prepar3d v4. I then go back to the Addon List, and hit update.

I do seem to have all of the waypoints, airports, navaids, etc and proc folder is updated as well, I'm just missing the .db file and when I launch the aircraft itself, I don't have departures enabled under the proc button (greyed out) and I don't see any indications it's building that database file, as I've seen hints to in other threads as well.

I do have a weird looking INDEX file under ...Prepar3d v4\CarenadoNavigraph\Navigraph, but not sure if that's relevant or not.

Thanks in advance!

PS: I know the G1000 isn't that great. I'm about ready to go with the GTN750, but the problem solver in me wants to try to fix this, especially when I seem to have an issue here.

Your database file (carenavigraph), the only file in the CarenadoNavigraph folder.  It is needed. The "weird" looking Index file appears to be correct too.  Did you install the Navigraph extension (separate payware).  If so, go to the directory where P3D is installed and search for carenavigraph.  In Windows Explorer it should show up as Data Base File under Extension.  At the bottom of the main P3D Folder you should see a file to uninstall the Carenado Phenom300 Navigraph.  The Navigraph extension is $9.95 at Carenado.  Even if you do not have the navigraph extension installed, Carenado installs a default and old navdata so your PROC button should work in any case.

The fact you are not seeing the carenavigraph.dll in the main P3D folder indicates a bad installation.  Did you do a search on your drive for carenavigraph.dll.  They now have a carenavigraphx64.dll too. You should also see CMeteoXml.dll.  These are installed when you install the aircraft and are not updated by any updates to Navigraph.  It is my understanding the CmeteoXml.dll is the weather gauge used by Carenado.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jim

Jim, thank you!

All I needed was the extension. The DLL's showed up and I can see departures and approaches now.

Thanks again!
