February 3, 20197 yr RTWR Team AVSIM Practice – Sunday 3 Feb, 1700 UTC Mike MacKuen (following the lead of Jeff Williams). Posted: 2019-02-02 This online practice session is scheduled for Saturday Feb 3 @ 1700 UTC. Starting at Bergen ENBR, the route proceeds northward toward Bodo (ENBO) and possibly as far as Kiruna (ENSQ). We shall fly in local daylight, but the Norwegian weather can be dicey. (It looks mostly ok at the moment.) Flight Plan Choose aircraft that you plan to fly in the race. This is a daylight session so fly the legs as fast as you can and land safely. Let's tune up those racing skills. In addition, we shall want to refresh our memory about baton transfers, making the appropriate posts and validations. (We shall concentrate on getting this right rather than on speed – a step forward for next weekend.) Team members are encouraged to participate in this session. Any new race team members should make an effort to participate, as this session will provide an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow teammates and experience what the race is like. There will be experienced race members who can assist with any configuration changes required for the race, TeamSpeak, recommended race aircraft, and any other questions that you may have. The practice session will simulate the race environment including the following: • Duenna validated legs with server tracking enabled • Teamspeak communications • Baton and Wingman with posts on the forum. • Real time baton transfers and handoffs (if needed) • On-line multiplayer using JoinFS The practice session will start at 17:00 UTC (12 Noon EST) and will continue three hours until 20:00 UTC. Remember to change the event in your Duenna to "rtwr 2019 practice". Set the simulator start time for 10:00AM (Local, or 0900 UTC). We shall use real weather.ParticularsDate and time: Sunday, 3 February, 2019. 1700 UTC. February 3, 20197 yr Author Yesterday, Roman and Jeff reminded us of the importance of using a checklist. You probably have one. But if not, you might like to use this RTWR checklist to begin your own. --Mike MacKuen
