Fuel control in lear

Recommended Posts

To be honest  , IDK if this was an issue before updating to the latest version but the fuel control switches for transferring fuel do not function for me. During a flight The wing tanks emptied while the others were full and the engines shut down. I tried fuel transfer but altho In got the proper icon the switches didn't move .

The fuel selector for readout of each tan functioned properly.

Have I missed something?

Thanx,

Vic

Agree something seems to be wrong with the fuel transfer function. In P3Dv4.4 I can't get the center tank xfer switch to work. It does seem to work in FSX, however.  I will let FSW know.

Here is the fix until next update. Seems the cab file was an older date and we made some changes in the model so they did not match.

L35A_4.1A_FIX.zip

But the second issue where the switch does not move is something on your end. Al tested today and if he changes his default flight the switch worked. I never had this issue. So its still strange why 1 switch would not work because of what default flight you have. Maybe something to do with the default flight having different default fuel settings causing a conflict. So try changing your default saved flight.

I have found my fuel transfer switch problem in the Lear35 was 'caused' by my choice of default a/c. I was using the Commander 114 as the default a/c that would get loaded when P3Dv4.4 first started. I would then load whatever aircraft I wanted to fly at that time, such as the Lear35. When I switched to the F-35 or F-22 as the default a/c the problem went away. This is not the first time I've found the choice of default a/c causes issues for me. I seem to keep getting 'forced' back to using the F-35 or F-22 as my default a/c to avoid these type of odd problems. I've tried reinstalling the Lear35 and the P3Dv4.4 client but that didn't make any difference -- strange.

So, if nothing else seems to help, try a different default flight.

I use the Cub as my default. If I load the Lear directly, it takes forever to start. Load the Cub first and it starts as expected. I'll try others.

I'd be interested to hear if trying a different default a/c, like the F-22 or F-35, makes any difference, especially given the simplicity of the cub.

Aircraft usually do not take long to load including my products. What is usually slow is scenery. And usually the first time you load P3D from a first computer start is slow and after that is fast. It takes me less than 30 seconds for the Lear35A to load using V4.4.

I switched to the F35 cold/dark without installing the "fix" above.

Start procedure works as expected

Fuel system switches and lights work as expected.

🙂  seems that was the problem with the switches.

Vic,

That's really interesting, glad I'm not the only one seeing this.  🙂  My default F35 flight is not cold and dark, but it seems to work fine so far.

You would think the cub would be as 'benign' an a/c as you could find to use as a default flight.  I find all this really strange, but I guess as long as it works.......

Thanks for the feedback,

Al

Exactly the reason I chose it. I had been having issues with some turbo's not starting properly so going to the cub insured all systems would be off.

Puzzling for sure.
