Has the forum software changed? re: Dropbox

Has the forum software changed recently where it affects dropbox image links? As examples -

This is what dropbox gives me as a link, doesn't seem or never did work with the avsim software -

https://www.dropbox.com/s/p10ve7wt8cm007q/SS_02Feb19_140635_N37.30414_W108.62968.jpg?dl=0

The old way of getting it to work is to change the "www" to "dl" so dropbox provides the raw image to avsim -

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/p10ve7wt8cm007q/SS_02Feb19_140635_N37.30414_W108.62968.jpg?dl=0

Now the above doesn't seem to work anymore. It previews just fine when creating the post but doesn't work once the post is completed.
The "dl" change still works on other sites and I use it successfully as a website repository.
In order to get it working I must change it back to "www" but then change the suffix from "?dl=0" to "?dl=1".
It works, but the problem is that if a user clicks the picture it presents him/her with a download dialog, not the expanded picture. Ex -

Any clarifications on this?

Thanks

Have you tried changing "?dl=0" to "?raw=1"?

This is the usual Dropbox method to provide images to post externally.

Simon,

Here's a test... That did it!
Never heard of that suffix until now.
Normally over in the RTWR forum, on our "fun" flights, I just share the folder containing the shots - saves bandwidth for a few that are on a limited connection.
With the RTWR race coming up I need to post an image and a text file that is at a secondary location to the tracking site, as a backup.
Thank You. 👍

Apologize for not responding earlier.  I have been in the hospital with a major case of pneumonia.  First of all, AVSIM gives all members at least two hours to edit their posts so, if the link does not work, you can try other things.  If you have gone past the time allotted, you can click on Report Post in every topic/post and explain your problem and one of our moderators will try to help.

Whenever I post an image from a hosting site, I use the url in the Address Bar.  It seems to work all of the time.  I did so in the OP.

You can also try using the link in the menu you see when making a new post.  There is a link that looks like chain links.  Click on that and paste your link there.  AVSIM still uses BBCode for image links so, if you can find a BBCode, use that - https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode.
