ADF ID's switched on MFD VOR Page. Intentional or minor bug?

Been having lots of fun flying by raw data in the 737 now it's the turn of the 777. Easy as pie when you have FIX info available as a redundancy check for bearing and distance. Last night did an 1100 mile flight from LDDU to ESSA using nothing but ADF, so it was not the most efficient of flights but gave me nearly 3 hours of solid radio tuning/practice.

I noticed I seemed to be getting confused when switching between stations when the ID on the CDU didn't match the MFD map display (using VOR mode). Did I enter something wrong or enter the frequency over the current one instead of next one on route? Then I realized the source of my confusion was that the MFD was displaying the ADF ID of the LEFT radio on the RIGHT side and vice versa. The NAV RADIO for example shows ADF L as 349.0 and ADF R as 318.0. These are JX and LP over Sweden. The MFD when within range is displaying the JX ID on the RIGHT side though not the left. This is why I was getting confused! Is this normal behavior or a minor bug? I can't think of any valid operational logic for this behavior.

Am including 2 examples from same flight. You can check the map from LittleNavMap shows the IDs and the  frequencies on the CDU and MFD are switched.

On the MFD in each case you can see the LARGE blue arrow which indicates the RIGHT ADF. A thin blue arrow would be the LEFT ADF. I haven't confirmed yet if the same is true with the LEFT side showing the RIGHT ID, I was too busy last night trying to work out where I was in the middle of the night over Scandinavia to test this out further!

Great fun this plane, I love radio nav. Look forward to doing the 747 next.

I think you are referring to the ND and not MFD.  The pictures are far too small for me to make out anything but if in fact the ADF displayed on ND for Right ADF is tuned on Left radio then yeah... I'd call that a bug.

Seems easy to check, and easy to miss because I've not used ADF since flying the DC6 around Alaska.

I suggest you document your finding on a trouble ticket, once validated it goes into a bug tracking system so we don't loose track of it.

Yes quite possibly. All those acronyms! I thought it was the Inboard Display using an MFD (multi function display) but if the official name is the ND (so there are 2 one each for captain and FO on either side of center display) then I'm happy to finally nail it down with a name!

As regard to the NDB navigation, yes it's not my chosen method in a modern jet but I like to master all the systems and the only way to do it sometimes is to do grueling flights like last night with ONLY ADF allowed. I actually prefer VOR/DME nav and that's the usual way I fly all the PMDG flights, at least with up to 200 or so miles between stations I am not kept so busy wondering when the next station will appear on the ND! That fix page is incredibly useful.You could actually do a whole flight with just a list of waypoints/stations and enter them in the FIX pages when necessary. Brilliant depth thanks PMDG!
