TBM900 With GTN750 Config Popup

Good day guys, gals,

I am trying to connect the GTN750 to the TBM. The issue I have is that the TBM has enabled popups so when I click the screen it is popping up the entire g1000. Is there any way around this? 

I have PM'd toto the creator of the TBM and hopefully he has a way to shut off popout windows.

Update, Toto said popups being disabled is not possible at this time. I removed the 725 junk from the script, this is my first time making one.

If the fix is relatively easy excuse my lack of knowledge lol I used the baron tutorial to get thus far.

When replacing any GNS530 with a GTN touch screen how do you get around the GNS popping out?

Hi,

I believe if you edit the RealityXP.GTN.ini rendering section configured for the 3D panel, and set the various mouse options this should prevent the default to popup.

  • usemouse = true enables the touch screen surface therefore it should prevent any click to go through.
  • popleft = true will enable the GTN show/hide popup window when LEFT-clicking the screen (therefore you need to press the SHIFT key when you click to 'touch' the screen instead - SHIFT = override)
  • popright = true will enable the GTN show/hide popup window when RIGHT-clicking the screen. You can still touch the screen with the left mouse button.

So usemouse = true and popright = true should cover this.

This is nearly the same with the GNS V2 except there is no 'touch screen' SHIFT key override, because there is no touch screen to deal with!

NB: the 'panel' rendering section is the one identified in the ini file.

Start with:

[GTN_XXX_N]
drawto = AAAAA, BBBBB

Then lookup whether the GTN_XXX_N.AAAAA and/or the GTN_XXX_N.BBBBB sections have these settings:

frame.type = PANELS (or PANEL2D or PANEL3D)

@RXP  Can you check my code? I have no luck figuring it out. I have tried going off of the other aircraft codes as well. For some reason when I load and shutdown the RXP 750, the "gauges = " portion deletes itself.. "GTN_750_1" is typically there..

This is expected: this setting tells which gauges are active in the panel. If you deactivate the gauge, it will remove itself from this setting!

I see you've created you own rendering section ok. I've highlighted some changes:

I've just read someone else was having troubles with '2D' or '3D' when rendering over another plugin drawn surface and using 'PANELS' instead seems to work better in this case.

Besides this, there is nothing much we can do to prevent the other plugin from intercepting any click over its own MFD which in turn popups their MFD isn't it?

@RXP making progess I believe. The MFD is no longer popping out, however when hovering the mouse over the MFD, I get a different cursor similar to the other popout cursors. however at least when clicking it does not pop. Still no 750 working yet

Have you sold this in using PANELS, or in editing the obj file, or both? Can you please share for others?

The cursor is also defined in the obj file I believe.

As for the 'no 750 working yet' I didn't understand it was not even working to get started with. If this is the case, obviously, it won't popup because it is not running. Can you please clarify?

Apologizes,

I have removed:

ATTR_manip_command    button    tbm900/popups/mfd    Show/Hide MFD popout window  from the .obj

ATTR_manip_command    button    sim/GPS/g1000n3_cursor    Toggle FMS cursor (MFD)

 

Still a cursor showing up, still working through .obj but I think I got it all. Also,

I have added Panels as frame type to no avail

GTN750 still visually on the MFD. but the original cursor still showing up, and click regions on the 750 do nothing. However they are not popping up the g1000 behind it.

Ok, so the GTN doesn't popup but it is working properly otherwise isn't it? this is what got me confused.

Now look back to the ini file comments:

  • If you use popleft, obviously you can't both touch and popup without telling the plugin what does the left click mean. So you must also press SHIFT at the same time.
  • if you use popright, obviously you'd use the RIGHT mouse button instead of the left mouse button.

So what are you doing and what have you configured in the end?

In the picture on the engine parameters part of the mfd g1000, the cursor still appears but nothing happens when clicking it. The same cursor appears over the GTN750 and nothing also happens when clicking the 750 in any spot. It seems there is still a layer over the 750 that is stopping the touchscreen from being used. Sorry for the confusion, but where the GTN750 is currently I have never been able to pop it out by clicking.
