v2.4.7 use legacy mouse changed?

Recommended Posts

Just updated last night (430 dual config in A36 Bonanza P3Dv4.4). Everything as advertised except using the mouse to turn the outer and inner com / nav knobs. I use the legacy mouse selection but the knobs no longer illuminate when the mouse over is in the zone to turn knob. I get the turn left/right symbol but the zones seem to have changed significantly. I can only change the outer knob from a small spot above the knob and the zone or spot for the inner knob seems to be much larger. I can get used to it but is this a real change or bug or just my setup?

Thanks,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

The Reality XP GNS legacy was first to implement a 'highlight' knob feature a decade ago.

However, the GNS V2 doesn't implement this but just the 'fancy' mouse cursors and all-in-one left/right/push actions.

We've been considering this for a while but in the end it seemed not requested at all anymore nor useful: we've devised a more generous click spot with a better segregation of outer vs inner knob which proves much more comfortable in the long run once you get used to it.

I'm sure I've even posted a graphical representation of the click spots in the forum near the release of our products, I'll have to dig this out.

OK thanks Jean-Luc. I wish I had screenshots. I’ve been using v2 for quite a while now and unless I’m hallucinating, my system had very different click spots (and the highlighted knobs using the ”use legacy mouse etc” setting. Actually I always placed the mouse where the proper knob highlighted then used the scroll wheel to set freqs.

I’d ask if I’m crazy or if anyone else had the same “feature” but I’m afraid of the answer. 😬 In any event, it won’t take more than a flight to get used to it now.
