XP 11.31 FF320 CTD when staring MCE

Hi guys,

since about a couple of days XP11.31 CTD when I start running the MCE via the internal plugin.

XP11.31 log file says: FF320 XPlugin: Message received ...this application crashed ...or similiar.

simulation : XP11.31 +FF320 0.9.4

There might a conflict beetween FF320 and MCE.  The MCE app starts running and after about 20s XP crashes down without warning.

What I tried by now:

• steam client searching for bad files
• fresh installation of FF 320
• fresh installation of MCE
• running XP w/o MCE causes no problems 🤔

Does anybody out there has any problems as well?

In case it's an issue with MCE installation (perhaps you have more than one XP installation), go to \X-Plane\ installation folder and check you have a folder named <MCE dlls>, with 2 subfolders inside it, each containing 21 dlls. Is it.

If it's not the case, that explains the freeze. Then go back to downloaded unzipped file and look under \Resources\Files\XPlane\ folder.

Copy entire <MCE dlls> folder and paste it to \X-Plane\ main installation folder.

Do the same if you have multiple X-Plane installations.

Don't forget to set "X-Plane.exe" to run as admin.

I don't have any another XP installation. The MCE dlls folder is inside the core installation XP folder with two subfolders and each of them with 21 dll included. Everythings seems to be as it should be.

MCE has run fine since its release for FF320.  🤔

XP runs as admin.

Gave another try:

1st: re-installed MCE

2nd: updated FF320 Connector to v1.1.6

3rd: Run XP and MCE

4th: CTD

Log file last output:

XPluginReceiveMessage entry(0, 1001, 0x84D28CC0).
--=={This application has crashed!}==--

2. RUN MCE via app outside XP (admin)
3. Works fine
4. Re-run XP with FF320
5. Run MCE via app (admin)
6. CTD when switching just before Message ...Ready and the MCE UI Display

Nvidia driver is up-tp-date.

 

It really seems to be a conflict between MCE and FF320- xpinsider.dll???

MCE doesn't require FF A320 connector.

Problem temporarely solved. 

What did I do?

• rollback of FF320 to stable version 
• checking XP for errors via the steam app
• MCE starts as it should be 😊

I had the same problem here. Also solved on my own that rolling back to stable from beta would do the trick.

-XP11.32r2 and FFA320 0.9.4 (beta) = Crash

-XP11.32r2 and FFA320 0.8.196-2159 (stable) = All is good.

With the new FFA320 0.9.5 beta out (and XP11.32r2), MCE crashes for me.

It could be linked to other plugins that interface FF A320. Especially those that use workarounds, and require updating.

Suggest you post in this thread and see if many are affected.

With clean FF version 9.7.0 Crash! If I install BSS Soundpack, no crash but MCE is asking for missing DLLs and afterwards there is no respond to voice commands!

The new version isn't meant to address the broken interface with FF A320.

We have to keep the Demo in good shape all the time. Even for the slightest glitch with FO handling Switch S8 on aircraft A16 on the fully supported list.

It will take some time.
