F-35 autopilot issue

Recommended Posts

I recently installed Dino Cattaneo's wonderful F-35 mod. However, I am having an issue.  When trying a flight with autopilot & auto-throttle engaged,

the a/c immediately goes into a very high pitch climb, which always results in a stall unless ap & auto-throttle are disengaged, even with afterburner in use. Example : autopilot & auto-throttle are set to 12000' ( with 1500'/min. climb), & 250 Kts. set on climb-out from airport. This should be a no-brainer for the F-35.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix? Really need help with this, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

Was this a payware or freeware version of the F-35?

Not so sure as why the OP said F-35 mod.  The "Mod" on that page refers to the payware F-35 and mod was for P3D.

OP hasn't specified his Sim.

There's also a version for FSX.

OK, and also for the payware model. I don't think trying and comparing freeware to the payware will be the same.  I had the free one a year, or so, ago and it performed as expected.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I have the freeware version for FSX.

I didn't know there was any difference. I thought they were the same product?

Again, if anyone has a fix, I'd appreciate it.

I will download and give it a try!  Just to be sure, you aren't engaging A/T and A/P while still on the runway?

A, B, or C model?

I did a test flight in the A model.  I had some oscillation during climb because I forgot to rest the altimeter, but after that it smoothed out in the climb to 12,000 feet at 250knots.  Engage A/P and A/T after takeoff and flaps up and keep in mind that this fighter does not need 100% full power for takeoff.   You can far exceed the 250 knots before engaging A/T.  I think I used about 75% thrust and engaged everything right after wheels and flaps up,
