Capitol Logistics Recruitment Drive

Recommended Posts

Greetings fellow virtual pilots! It is with pleasure that I announce a recruitment drive for Capitol Logistics, a virtual airline organized for the purpose of simulating real-world cargo operations of an FAA Part 121 certified all cargo carrier. Capitol Logistics is an airline that focuses our operations to emulate real-world operations, striving to be a realistic and rewarding experience, all while maintaining the flexibility required by our hobby to ensure fun for all pilots of varying skills levels, and levels of interest.

Capitol Logistics has been in existence for almost one year, founded for initial development in January 2018. Since then thru nothing more than word of mouth, Capitol has gathered nearly a dozen mature and experienced virtual pilots with vast experience not only on Vatsim, but also in real-world operations. Our crews range from real world pilots, to aviation airline professionals, and even FAA air traffic controllers.

Capitol Logistics operates a fleet of modern, cost effective, and efficient wide-body and narrow-body freighters based on the latest real world availability and specifications. The current fleet of Boeing 757, 767, and McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft allow the best available payware models, offering a high fidelity simulation both in the cockpit and on the back end systems. Aircraft are added on a realistic cost model that allows for long term leasing or outright purchasing of the aircraft, and are only added when there is a business case to do so. Additional types will be added as we grow our operations in a realistic manner. We don't believe in restricting aircraft to our crews based on arbitrary ranks. You bought it, you fly it!

Dulles, VA -- Today Capitol Logistics announces some changes to their fleet of freighter aircraft. The lone McDonnell Douglas MD-11 on lease from Sky Lease was returned to the lessor in Miami after Capitol decided not to exercise the option on the short term lease agreement reach last year.

Capitol CEO Tom Eddy states "The decision to move on from the MD-11 is a tough, but smart business decision at the current time, and gives us some increased flexibility to future acquisitions." Capitol Logistics had accumulated nearly 150 hours on the MD-11 serving mostly transpacific route.

To replace the heavy lift capability, Capitol has entered into leasing agreements to reintroduce the world famous Boeing 747. Two aircraft, both 747-400BCF's will begin operations for Capitol in the near future and provide heavy freight capacity in place of the MD-11. One aircraft returns to the Capitol fleet after a nearly year absence, N791BA. "When we first started the airline, we had a short term wet lease agreement for her that really enabled us to get off the ground, figuratively and literally. Without the 747's capacity we would have been really struggling as a new start. We are very familiar with the aircraft, and we hope she will continue to serve us well in the years to come" Mr. Eddy stated.

A second 747-400BCF will arrive in early April after a long term dry lease agreement was reached with a major aircraft supplier. The contract also grants a unilateral option to Capitol Logistics for a third 747 should the need arise within the next few months. The 747-400BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter), formerly known as the 747-400SF (Special Freighter), is a conversion program for standard passenger 747-400s.
