KCVG?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I know that there is a new scenery for KCVG being worked on but I wonder if there is anything out right now. I have P3D V4.3 and I just downloaded a whole bunch of cargo AI flight plans and most of them go through KCVG. I never realized that I didn't have any scenery for the airport yet. I have seen a few freeware sceneries that say FSX only and I have a rule that I only add something that says it works for P3D. I think even a correct AFCAD would tie me over but those are all for FSX too. Thank you

Nothing that I know of....

There's no P3Dv4.x freeware, and the Skyline payware version is still "in the works" as far as I know.

I do hear what you are saying, if you are a cargo airline fan (and I am) KCVG is a major hub in the USA, a fact many people don't realize, but unfortunately, for the time being we are stuck with the default KCVG scenery it seems....☹️

CVG and IND would make nice cargo hub additions for sure.

Taxi2gate was supposedly doing IND but they fell off the grid.

Still with FSX. Will the ImagineSim KCVG and Blueprint KIND not work at all in the current version of P3D?  How about my KBMG for FSX made with ADE and existing FSX add-on object libraries. I am on the brink of a new build but those would be dealbreakers. Since I have not yet attempted any move to P3D v4 it is important to gauge the impact on my personal flying.

I also use Orbx Global freeware airports and rely on many of them as destinations.  How about them?

I would lose my marriage and my mind if I spent $2.5 to $3.0 for a new build and could not fly as I currently do.

Hangar contents equal primarily Milviz 310R, Milviz B55 Baron, RealAir Turbine Duke v2, A2A C182, and scattered use of Carenado models based on trip characteristics.

Blueprint's compatibility matrix would suggest that KIND is not compatible with P3D (or even with FSX in DX10 Preview mode).

I believe I tried to get ImagineSim's old KCVG working in P3D at one point and had major problems with it.

The Orbx FTXG freeware airports work fine in P3Dv4.

I've been working on and off with ADE on an AF file for KCVG, so far I've added the runway and adjusted the slope between flatten and terrain around it but I've still have got to get to the DLH ramp and blow off the demolished terminals.  It will be at least a few weeks before I can put this up in the library.

CVG is not included in the Orbx NA airport freeware package.

The latest version of ADE allows mesh tweaking?  Or are you using some other tool (I seem to remember one or two programs that did that).

Not mesh, but you can create ground polygons and assign an elevation to each vertex and apply the poly as an airport background. See sloping polygons in the manual pg 138.

It's been a while but we've been working on a freeware KCVG for FSX! It's not complete by any means but it has full functionality with P3Dv4 and takes a few tweaks to fully work for P3Dv5
