KPHL and KSLC for P3Dv4..??

Recommended Posts

Any decent P3Dv4 scenery's available for KPHL and/or KSLC...??

A cursory look at Simmarket (my usual source) doesn't show anything, but I have not scoured the net, i'm just wondering if anything exists..??

For KPHL, there is a freeware one by sunskyjet that works relatively fine in P3Dv4.

For KSLC, pacific island sim has a great rendition. I believe it is on their own store and not on simmarket.

IIRC, the SunSkyJet KPHL (native FSX) scenery had to have one of the ground bgls disabled in P3D to prevent pink textures from showing at altitude.

PacSim's KSLC is a good one...be aware that unless your system is pretty strong, the parking lots full of cars can clobber performance (easily disabled in the config program).

A user reported that changing the anim.bgl file to anim.bgl.off resolved the Purple/Pink underlying ground issue, but that some or all of the animations (fuel trucks and working Deicing Stations just off of 09L).

Best wishes!

Meaning they stopped working? So they just sit there, correct?

The scenery Fuel Trucks (that simply drive in a circle around the old fuel depot) probably won't show up, but the Deicing Stations should still be present. They mike also still work... one just has to try them to see.

Best wishes!

Ah OK! I can deal with that. Thanks 🙂 I didn't know there was a work around for those pink polys

indeed .... has SODE jetways but no SODE conditionally activated daytime low visibility runway/approach lighting.

Like others have said Pacsim KSLC is very good.  It is much better in 4.4 due to all the photo scenery that is included.  In 4.3 it was a blurry mess.

Installed the SunSkyJet KPHL scenery, it's very nice considering it's freeware and intended for FSX, I disabled the anim.bgl as suggested (thanks Dave) and that resolved the pink textures issue....

The jetways appear to be static, as they don't seem to work with the default Ctrl+J key combo, so I assume the scenery was designed that way..?? FWIW, looking at the screenshots at the website, I don't see any jetways attached to aircraft, but it's still way better than the default scenery, or any other freeware KPHL, so no complaints here.

Thanks Dave, I had noticed that on a flyover recently but forgot to investigate further...appreciate the fix.
